  1. Oxford doing ok straight into Championship. Go NL then Championship won’t get a crowd kick. Should go straight into Championship.
  2. Says all it needs to say. With Poole at full strength, the Westcolour Gladiators will bring in Guest Replacements for Edward Kennett and Michael Palm-Toft in the shape of Leicester Heat Leader Richie Worrall and Redcar star Lewis Kerr and will operate the Rider Replacement facility for Hans Anderson. With Barker at No 1 in the Averages and Anderson third in the Averages this will allow Worrall, Kerr, Alfie Bowtell and Ben Morley to share Andersons 4 scheduled rides between them. The Westcolour Gladiators will line up: Ben Barker, Alfie Bowtell, Lewis Kerr, Hans Anderson (RR), Richie Worrall, Harry McGurk, Ben Morley. The Pirates haven’t yet confirmed their exact Riding order but will line up with Steve Worrall; Richard Lawson, Danny King, Ben and Zach Cook, Drew Kemp and Nathan Ablitt. Weather: Effing sizzling!
  3. British speedway cannot benefit if the riders turn their backs on who gave them the chance. A simple rule would be ride in the U.K. or you don’t get picked for SON/SWC etc. Rugby followed this lead when there was an exodus of top British players out of the British leagues.
  4. Ok changed format from top flight 4 team playoffs.
  5. Zmarzlik should have gone. Throttle goes both ways. Kept it on hoping Dudek would back down. Ran out of room.
  6. Cracking meeting making up for the dross served on Friday. Lambert/Zmarzlik battles brilliant.
  7. Might now actually be coming down for this one now. Have to go to Honiton next week so if I chose Tuesday afternoon, it’s less than an hour further on to Plymouth.
  8. Team who finish top can pick any of the other three.
  9. Want to see the same fighting spirit we showed on Wednesday continue at Plymouth. Everyone knows you have to gate and hold the lead into the third bend and you are more or less home and hosed at the Coliseum. Unless you are Chris Harris. Will be buying the stream.
  10. Ostergaard having a massive roller the whole stadium saw with the exception of the ref.
  11. Yes agree lots of passing and a very entertaining meeting. Surprised, or perhaps not surprised, to return home and read a string of negative comments on the meeting (mostly from Glasgow fans) about how rubbish the meeting was, when in truth it was excellent entertainment. Pleased to see Danny Hume develop into the rider he is today and I believe there’s more to come. Saw it in glimpses last season and would have loved to have had him in this years lineup but it wasn’t to be. Ben Basso wasn’t roundly booed. Enough in the grandstand so he knew of the displeasure of what happened. Craig Cook was more roundly booed as is the norm when he visits. Again nothing to the reception he would have got at Eastbourne. I visit nearly all tracks and have to say away riders are much more warmly applauded when at Wimborne Road than any other track. Some tracks away riders are greeted with silence or a few boos.
  12. I forgot the pass in heat 2 where Nicol took Ablitt. And heat 8 when Hume went around the outside of B Cook entering bend 3. Seems sour grapes are out in force to deflect admitting their team took a beating. So many passes last night. A great nights entertainment with the big crowd going home very happy. More next week please!
  13. Thought the track last night held up well considering the heatwave we are currently having. The track staff worked well and kept the dust away bar one or two heats at the end. But that didn’t stop passing and in heat 15 Craig Cook worked his way past Worrall. Perhaps a bit more water on the track before the meeting. The main this is everyone went home extremely happy. There was someone behind me who was attended if their first meeting and they loved it and said they are coming again next week. Thought it was thrilling stuff. Whil we will probably miss out on top two, if we continue to put in performances like last night and not repeat our poor efforts of Edinburgh and Berwick, we will have nothing to fear in the playoffs. This time we are far from favourites so the pressure is off, expectations low. Can we retain the title?
  14. Ostergaard got away with a huge roller. Lawson was well pissed and got straight in the phone. Crowd were shouting at ref throughout heat and afterwards. Ridiculous miss.
  15. After tonight I don’t think we have anything to fear against Glasgow. Drew up there and won comfortably at home by 12. As long as we avoid Plymouth and Leicester we should make final. Just need to get Zack going.
  16. Poor? We’re you really there? Sorry Ray tonight was the best meeting of the season and the crowd lapped it up.
  17. Tonight had passing after the second bend in 8 of the 15 heats. Berwick v Poole had passing in three of the 15 heats. Tonight’s meeting was superior on every conceivable level.
  18. Heat one Craig Cook passed Kemp. Heat 3, King passed Basso back straight then lined up and blasted around Ostergaard. Heat 5 Zack Cook passed CC on bend 4 for CC to re pass next lap. Heat 6 DREW Kemp passed Brennan lap two bend 4. Heat 7 Basso passed B Cook Heat 9 CC passed Zack Cook lap 2. Heat 10 Basso passed Drew Kemp lap 2 Heat 15 CC passed Steve Worrall lap 3. No, there wasn’t any passing! What we have learned tonight is that Glasgow won’t want to draw Poole in the semi finals.
  19. Well well well. Must admit I didn’t see that result coming. Big crowd, good tight meeting with Pirates always having the upper hand. Brilliant atmosphere and all the pirates getting well stuck in to send the Tigers home empty handed! Perhaps not a passing fest but there was passing in half the heats, but the closeness of the scores and the determination made up for it as the roof came off the stadium on a few occasions. Rather than a neutral watching a feed isn’t the same as attending because those there, (with the exception of the 4 Glasgow fans on the first bend)lapping it up. Rider of the night was Richard Lawson who was only. Eaten in heat 7 when everyone but the ref saw Ulrich Ostergaard take a mighty roller. Stevie Wonder posted on Twitter, asking how Chris Gay the ref missed it. Ben Basso’s return was greeted in boos from several in the crowd. It clearly affected him as he was pretty useless. Second season syndrome? On the other hand Danny Hume was greeted very warmly and showed his improvement this season with a battling display. Broc Nichol has scored very well at Poole but tonight was almost as useless as Connor Bailey. Craig Cook battled and made several passes, and Tom Brennan battled along with Ostergaard. But Pirates were on it and all to man man had raised their game on recent performances. About time too as we are not going to finish top two meaning having to battle past decent teams to make the semis.
  20. A lovely warm day here in Poole. Temp around 25-26 C. Light winds. A little cloud cover will help keep a bit of moisture in the track as long as it’s well watered but expecting dust and a blue groove by mid meeting. Regardless of practice, the team as a whole are not riding to their potential. Not sure what the main issue is but they are not clicking as a team. See a repeat of the Leicester meeting.
