  1. Because it was your club racing the doubt was there. I didn’t care who won, and there was no doubt for me as a neutral. Would Kemp and Howarth beat Nicholls and Masters in heat 13? Not a chance and so it proved from the gate. Heat 15 and would Allen and Howarth surprise us? Not a chance. Nicholls said he was happy to “sit where he was”, but it was too easy with the mistakes being made and came past both without breaking sweat. A fan of either club might have thought is close and tense, but reality for the neutral was different.
  2. As a complete neutral, it’s Sheffields to lose. 53-37ish? Hope I am wrong and it comes down to the last bend of heat 15.
  3. Come on it was never in doubt. The track had slickened off and although Howarth stopped them getting maximums, he was never going to bother them when it mattered. There was little to no jeapody for Oxford with 8 points available to them in 13 and 15. I would have bet £100 on them getting the points, with only a tapes or EF stopping it from happening. Scunthorpe did well to keep it close with Boughen riding while injured and Oxford carrying Scott. But Masters and Nicholls far too good.
  4. Looking forward to next week. Going to be a close final. Oxford have huge home advantage and haven’t been beaten at home this season. Dialled in track specialists and 13 and 15 almost a guarantee. But we do have riders capable of challenging Nicholls and Masters, albeit not as good as those two around Cowley.
  5. Just caught up this morning. Never in doubt for Oxford no matter what Scunthorpe did. Heats 13 and 15 the safety net. Opposition had no riders capable of stopping 5-1’s and an 8 point swing. Decent effort for Scunthorpe though. Looking forward to the final next week.
  6. I would certainly like to see Anders back but not Danny. He is at the twilight of his career and his scoring has already diminished this season. Lawson Z Cook Foord D Thompson Rowe top heat leader decent reserve
  7. Vinnie we have missed you! What a great effort. Compare the body language to Hagon. Pirates far too strong for a patched up Workington.
  8. Actually I didn’t care who went through. But I did want an even playing field, and because of the ref, I was cheering on the Witches by the end.
  9. Tom Brennan saying all the right things, even though he is just a guest. Likely dropping Championship next season with Premier, Sweden and Poland for racing.
  10. Danny King is a great bloke and has been a top servant for British Speedway for many years. But he is now pushing 40 and time is finally catching up with his racing career. Think his last season for Poole was he last top season and in the last three years there has been a slow but steady decline. He does have a top meeting in him now and then but too often this season he has stinkers, and tonight was one of them. Would be surprised if next year he just does Championship racing.
  11. Congrats Leicester, commiserations Ipswich. Silly falls and a dodgy referee led to defeat when they should have made the final.
  12. Fricke and Masters? Brennan and Ellis? Must be advantage Leicester heat 15.
  13. Never the same on a rerun. Ipswich completely thrown this away with falls. The ref has been poor but Leicester were there for the taking.
  14. Stating the bleeding obvious That fall could cost Ipswich big time.
