Tony Millard!
Steve Shovlar replied to longlivefrankie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Totally atrocious tonight. Calling out the wrong riders in virtually every heat. The list of mistakes is just too long to bear. -

So whats the difference between the Pedersen/Sullivan incident and the Crump/Lindback one in the last GP? Same ref, same incident, different guy excluded. IMO the ref got it right tonight, but he did the opposite last time. Inconsistent. -
Totally true. Track conditions at the GP and at Poole didn't even compare. Terry Russell spoke to me about this very topic a couple of weeks ago. He said that the farce caused real problems for the BSPA, with Sky very angry and he received a letter from them saying this was totally unacceptable. He said he he had been there the ELRC would have gone ahead. There is now a new system in place so that riders cannot dictate whether they are going to bother to ride or not. A second referee (adjudicator) will be present and the power to decide will not be with the riders.

The same page as the rule on first bend bunching. Is it missing out of your copy Bryn?

Tell you what folks no one can ever win an argument on here. It is impossible as everyone wears their blinkered rose tinted specs. Hans fans saying it was Nicholls fault, and vice versa. Lindback fans saying it was Crumps fault. And vice versa. Most happy that Crump ended in the slime. Except BV fans. Most happy that Andersen croaked again. Except Andersen fans. Most happy Jonsson won. Overall a reasonably good GP as conditions deteriorated. Isn't speedway great?

So what do I do on here that is worse than anyone else? I perhaps post more and am quite verciferous, but thats about it. I rarely use bad language on here though I called Crump a dirty B&*t^&d tonght for his second dangerous move in a week. Deserved. And I don't attack the poster unless defending myself. I attack the post. Perhaps thats why I don't get banned. Think about your posts. They are usually a personal attack.

Hey The Know, I hope you enjoyed watching Andersen croak for the second GP in a row. Bloody hilarious!

PLEASE LEARN SOME OF THE RULES FOLKS! tHIS ONE COMES UP ALL THE TIME AND THERE IS A MISCONCEPTION THAT CONTACT HAS TO TAKE PLACE. YOU DO NOT NEED TO TOUCH A RIDER TO BE EXCLUDED. YOU CAN BE EXCLUDED FOR TAKING THE OTHER RIDERS LINE CAUSING THAT RIDER TO FALL. Whether or not Crump touched Lindback, he caused Lindback to fall by taking his line away. Even Sam Ermolenko and Tatum said the same thing, and Sam said it was clear cut. In the other incident Nicholls was hard done by. Andersen was turning left all the ay down the straight and Nicholls did give him a small nudge entering the straight. Andersen should have gone but as the rider leading slightly had the advantage as far as the ref is concerned. Andersen knew if he dropped it Nicholls would more than likley be out, and so it proved.
-
Touching has nothing to do with it. A rider can be excluded for taking another riders line and causing that rider to fall, which is exactly what Crump did. Lindback had absolutely nowhere to go but down. Can you honestly say when it happened you thought Lindback was in the wrong? I might have rose tinted glasses on at times but it was so clear cut, the same as the Nicholls/Andersen incident. At least justice was done in the end with Crump ending up where he put Lindback.
-
I would have cringed and thought, "here we go, a load of posts about an out of contril Antonio". Crump should have gone. Even the studio "experts" said the same. There's no way anyone can say it was a safe fair move. The guy is starting to take over the Nicki Pedersen mantle.
-
Tabby, if I make a post, more often than not Liesdale will post some rubbish soon after. Wait and see.
-
Totally disagree. Even Tatum and Sam said Crump should have gone. You don't have to touch to be excluded. Crump took Lindbacks line away causing Lindback to fall. This Polish ref has ben involved in GP controvesy before. Another bad call with Andersen and Nicholls. Both pretty clear cut and he got it wrong on both occassions. Thought it was Durno in the box at one stage.
-
Here we go again!! STALKER ALERT!! STALKER ALERT!!
-
BobC we rarely see eye to eye bu tonight we were on the same wavelength. Crump laying in the slime was a joy to see! Must have felt at home:lol: Justice for his move on Lindback. Andersen lifting and losing it. Justice for his move on Nicholls. AJ do or die. Well done to the lad. Well deserved and no controvesy about any of his rides.
-
JUSTICE!!!!!!!!
-
Refs having a mare. For a moment I thought it was Chris Durno in the refs box!! Crump rode straight through Lindbacks line giving Lindback nowhere to go but down. It seems some people on here think if the riders don't touch its a fair move. This is not true. Riders can be excluded for causing an opponent to fall, and there was no way Lindback was ever going to stay on with that dangerous move. Crump again shows his true colours. Dangerous on Monday at BV, Dangerous tonight. Someone needs to give him a Boyce style smack in the mouth to bring him in line. Andersen should have been out in the semi. Nicholls very hard done by.
-
No. Mark had his chance and its time for the youngsters. If he wanted it he should have applied to enter and quaify through this year. It was awful watching some old Norwegian beat him in his last GP. Don't want to see that again. Let the youngsters have a go.
-
Terribly sad news. had no idea he was even ill. RIP Tony. A very good rider who had his leg over a bike until what seemed just a short time ago.
-
Well done to Nicholls. A dodgy decision got him there but a Brit in second is to be cheered.
-
Bad luck Bjarne. Crumps dirty move by leaving no racing room will be remembered. If Bjarne had come off Crump would have been out on his ass.
-
Trouble for BV fans is that Crump is not likely to be at KL in 2007. Will they still be cheering him on when he rides for a rival team?
