  1. Good idea but Poole have done this by themselves, without the help of the bSPA and other clubs. Now if next year they want to do that meeting, with a 100,000 for the winner, it would be a tremendous way to start the Poole season.
  2. You should ignore him Bazaar. More or less everyone bar this misery realises what a great event it is going to be and will be there on the 9th March. Let him carry on making more and more of a fool of himself so we can all have a good laugh.
  3. I would also like to add that this meeting will definately NOT be televised.
  4. Of course it can't compete with Cardiff and it's not trying to. Its a one off celebration of 60 years of speedway, and in doing so the club have raised enough sponsorship to give the richest ever prize in speedway. A race where the winner is earning £1000 a second. After all the woes on here in recent weeks, along comes something special where all fans can come along and enjoy what should be a brilliant meeting, and you get people like Eastie, KevH and a few others trying their best to crap on it. Speedway fans can pencil in a Sunday afternoon a week before the season officially starts and come on down to support their favourite rider. What's wrong with that? Or would fans not bother and rather carry on posting in all the depressive threads currently swamping the board?
  5. All I see from you is the big green eyed monster. A special meeting for the fans of all clubs to celebrate 60 years of continuous speedway at Wimborne Raod, and all you can do is try and crap on it. Even fans of other clubs are saying what a good meeting it looks and are coming down. But then what else would we all expect from you? Just did what I should have a long time ago and added you to my block list. At least I donn't now have to read your posts.
  6. But you will find it easy enough to go to Cardiff and pay a lot more. And if you supported a decent football team that would be the cheapest ticket.
  7. One way of looking at it but how many big meetings do fans go to and end up queing for a photocopy of the race sheet as the programs have sold out? Happens at every big meeting. At least this way there's no worry. Get your ticket before habnd and you can turn up 10 mins before the first race, have a program and a reserved seat. That sounds good. If you don't want a program, sell it afterwards on Ebay and get your money back.
  8. KevH, I guess we won't see you down here for the big one then. Don't see how you could call the prices crazy. A special program included (£5 value?) so only a fiver more than usual. And considering a weaker ELRC costs normally £18 plus program, about £2 more than normal. Start time is 3 pm, and finishes a spectacular weekend for Poole fans, as the night before is the big gala evening of champions at the BIC, where many ec and the current World Champ will be in attendance. If I get NP on my table I will be sure to get a few drinks down his throat!!
  9. Theres a good amount of young riders in the Poole area Subedei. They won the Academy Lague cup in 2007. Brendan Johnston is coming on leaps and bounds ( except for a broken bone last week in practise!) and Matt Bates is also another one to watch. Jordan Frampton is also doing well at Somerset.
  10. Tell you what Eastie, you russle up the ten grand and I will ask Matt and Mike if some juniors can have a few heats to win it.
  11. Because its a top rider event and not a junior event. 16 riders and probably 24 heats. No time for anything else.
  12. Why does Matt just give the money to Eastbourne so they can survive another year?
  13. In fact that 3 course dinner with free program for £45 is a bit of a bargain. Only an extra £15 for the meal and good views of the track INSIDE. Now being a bit of a traditionalist I like the noise and small of speedway, but on a cold early March Sunday, that might be a super place to watch and is a bargain.
  14. Perhaps I am bigging it up and I don't need to. Its the biggest prize money in an individual meeting ever in speedway. Can't say more than that!
  15. Demand for tickets is going to be huge. After a winter being starved of racing, and it being on a Sunday, I would guess that fans will travel down for this from all over the country. By the look of the date this will be the first meeting of the 2008 season anywhere. Coventry fans will want to see Nicholls and Harris, Swindon fans Adams etc, Poole, Crump and Bjarne. For once, it might be very wise to buy your tickets in advance. Although most speedway fans are used to paying on the gate, travelling down to join a very long queue, and then to discover that the place is full and you can't get in may be very disappointing. Think I am going to play safe on this and give the BIC a call. Better safe than sorry.
  16. Poole need to get Sky involved. They will love this. £1000 a second and the biggest prize in the history of speedway. They went on all last season about the German GP, well a British club has just gone and trumped that with a super lineup of talent. Agree that only riders who are going to ride in the UK should get the chance of one of the remaining three berths ( thanks for the correction) Also think we won't see many crying off before the meeting either. Imagine a final of Crump, Adams, Andersen and Pedersen. Phew!
  17. But this is to celebrate Poole PTW, nothing else. Better than a meaningless challenge to start the season. And for only about £6 more, as the program is included. Imagine the tension for the final, when the winning rider is earning £1000 for every second he is on the track.
  18. It'll make the ELRC look like small fry. The trouble is only Poole could really put on such a meeting. And I don't mean that being detrimental to any other club, but M&M are capable of raising large amounts of sponsorship and this proves it. Interestingly, I remember Matt making a comment about something special a couple of years ago, but then it went silent. Perhaps Matt and Mike decided to hold the meeting back until the Jubilee season. Nicki Pedersen Jason Crump Leigh Adams Hans Andersen Greg Hancock Andreas Jonsson Scott Nicholls Chris Harris Bjarne Pedersen Krzysztof Kasprzak Kenneth Bjerre Davey Watt Karol Zabik Leaving two places left. Holder? Gollob? Holta? Lindgren? Even Gollob would come over for that. This is possibly a better lineup that the GP at Cardiff. The prize money certainly dwarves that. Could well be a lot of pre season practice going on next year!
  19. Poole do it again! The richest minute in speedway history, and what a fabulous way to start the spedway season! Now expect the usual moaners coming on and bleating about the price of attending. Answer is simple. If you don't like paying to see something a bit special, well don't. Reckon if the weather is fair the place will be heaving, especially as it's on a Sunday! Every top rider will be begging for a place in the lineup with that much money at stake. Also means the season will start a week earlier for us Poole fans, with P&P possibly on the 5th March?
  20. I didn't say the meeting was good ( not being there) but Troys performance certainly was. Exciting times in 2008 down Poole way.
  21. Well done Troy, second and a good meeting at Brandon. Puts him in good stead for his visits there next year!
  22. I heard a very strong rumour this week that KK has got the nod over Hampel, who even though injured has not done very much.
