  1. Rumour has it there are people queuing at the stadium already!
  2. Just got up after a fantastic nights entertainment at the Poole Gala evening last night. Though IMO there were too many there! By the time the riders of past and present were introducd we didn't start eating until 8.30 and finish by 11, with more intterviews by Dave Lanning, who was on superb form. This guy might be in the twilight years but boy does he have the gift of the gab and puts our current presenters to shame with his eloquence. Notable absentees were TRick, who has cut out a dash for himself on Swedish TV and i in the semis of the dancing show. Just couldn't get away, and Schoie, who now resides in Australia. Too many riders present to name but Rosco was enjoying himself and said he had applied for the post of manager of TeamGB. Toninio was there and got a good reception, but the biggest reception was saved for Cegeilski, who was cheered into the room. I think he will get the same reception this afternoon from a much bigger crowd. Nigel did an excellent job of the show of through the ages and he worked well with Lanning, and Jim Lynch was good as auctioneer. Karol Zabik and his manager were on our table and I can tell you he is a real charactor. Says it as it is and looked very cool.Talked about the passion of the Polish fans and the fact he can' go out in his home town to the pub because he will either get mobbed ( if they win) or lynched (if they lose!) Said he was going to enjoy the whole experience today and didn't have any expectations. Said he had made best mates with Holder, who is in his team in Poland and Sweden. Said Skornicki was going to show him the fastest route around the tracks. Said Eastbourne was OK. Better than Lakeside which he hates! Said he wants to see more dirt on the Poole track. Not enough on it at P&P. Very happy being at Poole. Did say he has one clash in the fixtures which Poole are fully aware of. Didn't ask which meeting but guess we will find out when it arrives. Sad to leave early but didn't want to leave. However, nice and fresh for the big day.
  3. When have I complained about people invading Poole threads?
  4. Yes I hope the track is good. It got a little dusty in P&P on Wednesday but I am sure the track would have been well watered and worked on today and in the morning. Need to get the moisure in it to stand up to a punishing 21 heats tomorrow. I'll look out for you tomorrow SB. Are you with Shawn?
  5. Think he said he "hoped" in would be sold out in advance. Trouble is now with a limited supply available on the day for standing only, the chances are some fans could be turned away. If it had sold out then no one would have had a wasted journey.
  6. Latest ticket news. The Resteraunt AND grandstand are now completely sold out. There are only a limited amount of tickets for standing left. Check out the BIC site in my sig if you don't believe me. Advice for those travelling down toorrow without tickets. GET THERE VERY EARLY! People on this forum have the advantage of knowing the situation so if you miss out there's only yourself to blame. Roll on tomorrow.
  7. Jump in your car then and in the voice of the Village People, "Go west"! You know you want to!
  8. Thought you might have ventured a bit further west for tomorrow's big day.
  9. Shazzy, I do agree that Sheilds should have been in from the off. But glad he is in now. Rather have had Lindgren in place of Hampel though. Will you be in budgieland on Good Friday?
  10. IN a way I was hoping for more rain today. Best way to water the track. Don't want a dust bowl tomorrow in the sunshine. Well we are on our way in a little over 2 hours to the Poole Gala Evening. Should be a fantastic night with over 320 of us and Nigel is putting on a show from over the years, plus I guess many interviews with World Champs and previous top Poole men. What a super way to start the season.
  11. Not from me, but it seems if you don't like my opinion its venom! I was vocal on the Coventry V Sheffield thread because the fans are being ripped off by an inferior product. Being charged £15 to watch a completely one sided meeting is a rip-off. Period. It will either be a slaughter or a fix, and I hope its the former for the good of the sport. The excuse that EL guests are not allowed to be used by PL sides was blown out of the water when KL booked Crump to guest for them at Ipswich. Sheffield booked Hall and Woffinden! I also posted on the Peterborough V Mildenhall thread and said the same thing. A farcial way to start the season. Sure, Sheffield V Coventry and Mildenhall V Peterborough will be fun, but not the other way around. If you take offence at that I am sorry but I am just giving my opinion. You are free to attack my posts, thats what a forum is for, to debate. But to just slag me off and say I post venom is rubbish. I give my opinion and I welcome argument the other way, but I don't attack posters on here unless I am personally attacked first. And it seems that there are a few on here who need to read the rules regarding that. Anyway back on topic and now only less than 24 hours to go before the biggest meeting of the domestic season takes place at Wimborne Road. With the festicities starting in little under 4 hours, its going to be a grreat weekend for Poole fans.
  12. MD, a rare breed along with mmmmmmethenal as a decent budgie fan! You coming up tomorrow Mark?
  13. Considering you have introduced yourself to me twice last season I think you know who I am Stop trying to be the self righteous guy. You are coming across as a pompous know-it-all whose views mean little to most. I would also add a forum is for people with a common interest with differing views. I have completely different views to you, but do I come along and slag you off without being provoked? No. As far as I am concerned my opinion is mine and as this is an open forum I am quite free to post my own thoughts, as long as I abide by the rules. But over the last few days you have broken the rules by attacking the poster and not the post. That alone is against the rules of this forum. I rarely attack a poster unless they go for me. If you can't handle my posts, put me on ignore user. Its very easy and if you can't find the button ask a mod and they will show you how to do it.
  14. Superb coverage. Possibly the biggest ever? This massive coverage will get attract a hell of a lot of non speedway fans along to the stadium tomorrow to see what all the fuss is about. I dread to imagine the length of those queues, even with fans who have purchsed in advance. Sure they will move faster but they still have to give a free program and discount voucher which will slow things up. Decided to get down to Poole early to get something to eat before heading to the stadium. Don't like the stadium food. Glad to se that the threat of rain has gone away and the forecast is now giving a sunny afternoon, if a bit blustery. Hopefully the track staff can keep the moisture in the track and it will last the pace. With so much at stake, and possibly 10-11 points the traget to make the final, I think we will see some titanic battles, and even a run off to see who makes the final 4. Then it's anyones guess. My final four would be Crump, N Pedersen, B Pedersen and a complete suprise rider who none predicted would be there, like Harris or Holder. Not long now to wait.
  15. Jesus many of us have had to suffer the gloating since Coventry won the league, but have just got on with it. Its a sport. There's winners and losers. Sure, if we have a good season I and many others will be crowing from the rooftops. I am sure any fan from any club would be doing the same. Just because I said Poole fans should get there early you are not coming? Luckily then I didn't post Poole fans should have their own entrance or be moved to the front of the queue!
  16. No thanks. Should be a great evening. Sold out weeks ago and should be a great night with over 320 of us present. Decided to be driver so I will have a clear head for Sundays action.
  17. Why should I respect that? I travel all over supporting Poole and don't want resepct for putting diesel in my car! Zzzzzzzzzzz!!! And Coventry fans didn't gloat and windup in 2007! Well I am not going to join the politically correct lets all be pals act. Sport is competitive and fans support their club. If you don't like me bigging up my club, stick me on the "ignore user" button. Easy really. Doubt either of you will. Last forecast at 7pm said Sunday is a dry day, so no stopping it now. Hampel out, Schein in unfortunately. Shame that Hampel has injured himself but rather have seen Lindgren as his replacement.
  18. Well said Sue. See you tomorrow. We have Zabik on our table!
  19. Sandie, get a life. This is the biggest individual meeting in the UK other than the GP and if you are put off coming down by what I write, then all I can say is tough! You won't have to come down for me to say the stadium was full. If it is I will say it anyway and so will others, and if you want to cut off your nose to spite your face because of a few words that I say, then tough again! I can't believe for one single second you have been put off coming down because I have advised Poole fans to get there early. I reckon you were either never coming in the first place or are working and can't get time off. Simple as that.
  20. You are just stirring. We have had to suffer threads about Coventry bloody quiz nights on here, which should never have been started. Why Coventry fans don't start their own forum up and support it I have no idea. Did we all moan about it? No but it wasn't suitable for this forum. My post was fair. All fans are welcome but, as surely you can understand, Poole fans especially.
  21. Sandie, nothing wrong with what I wrote. If fans of other clubs want to come along all well and good. But the meeting is to celebrate 60 years of POOLE speedway and so POOLE fans need to know to get there early otherwise they could miss out.
  22. Latest BBC forecast shows a dry day on Sunday with rain and strong winds arriving late Sunday night/early Monday. All systems go! For those who have left buying a ticket until the day of the meeting, you better get there very early as the chances are the queues are going to be long and winding! Don't want Poole fans being turned away when the full house signs go up.
