Everything posted by Steve Shovlar

  1. Hopefully the Newcastle team will be strengthened with Bjerre and N Pedersen.
  2. Latest is there has been a rider change. Zibi Suchecki is now going to have his pins removed from his legs next tuesday and obviously won't be fit to race, so his place has been taken by Tomasz Piszcz.
  3. Sorry Rabs completely missed your post! And I looked before I posted as well. Duur!
  4. Why would Southampton V ManUre affect the crowd? Perhaps 5-10 people might go to the football who would have gone to the speedway. Don't know the two Czechs. Be interesting to see how they do.
  5. Latest names to be added are Adam Skornicki and Stuart Robson. Added to Emil Kramer, Ollie Allen, David howe, Lewis Bridger, Eddie Kennett, Zibi Suchecki, Danny King.
  6. It was sealed bids. So if Poole wanted it and had to bat the opposition, then they had to put in a good bid. It is irrelevant that Poole were the only ones to bid. they could have got it for 50p but may have bid thousands. I have no idea. but newport had a free reign before so their bid would have been minimal.
  7. And when you consider Poole had to pay to run it, makes it a fairly good deal.
  8. Admission prices. £16, £13 OAPs and £4 for kids. Family ticket at £36.
  9. No price announced as yet but I will see if I can find out for you this week. Poole did have to "buy" the meeting from the BSPA with a bid.
  10. From Poolespeedway.net. Zibi Returning - 24 year old Polish rider Zbigniew Suchecki will be returning to Wimborne Road in 2009 for at least one meeting. "Zibi", as the 2008 Castle Cover Pirate is better known as, has become the latest rider to agree terms to compete in the New Year Classic meeting being staged on Sunday January 4th. The likeable Pole found his Poole career cut short when he crashed in heat 2 of the Pirates home league meeting against Eastbourne on 23rd April. He sustained multiple breaks of his right leg and was sidelined until mid-July, by which time the Pirates had re-declared their side with the call-up of Magnus Zetterstrom and Daniel Davidsson. In his short-spell with the Pirates Suchecki, an Ipswich asset, showed plenty of promise and no doubt he could benefit from this opportunity to race in Britain again.
  11. Judging by your answer to my first quote, it seems you have!!! Kanu Sukalagwun Can You Suck a large one. Yes you can!
  12. I didn't say he was doing the right thing. I said, "perhaps Matt thinks he is dong the right thing." If you want to ask him yourself, phone the Poole speedway office in the week. The phone is normally manned. Or come down on Wednesday for the fans night and ask him face to face.
  13. I don't speak for the Poole promotion. Personally I would have called it anything but NYC and left any memorial to Newport speedway. Perhaps Matt rad these pages and thought he was doing the right thing by changing its name and doing a memorial? I have no idea.
  14. Come on down to the meeting on Wednesday night and find out CC. You can then discover at first hand who our first official Poole signing will be.
  15. Yes and there will be a mix of EL and PL riders to keep fans of both leagues happy.
  16. Seems some have read my post in not the way it was intended. When I said I don't really care, what i meant was I don't really care about all this pathetic whinging and moaning from certain quarters led from the front by Vince. I don't care to phone up Matt ford and ask on Vince behalf questions he already knows the answer to. As a speedway fan I want to go along on the 4th, ENJOY the meeting, because fun and enjoyment is what its meant to be all about, then go home. Simple as that. And Grachan I completely agree.
  17. Why have you now got yourself in a twist? Can't see what I have posted to cause any offence. The meeting at Poole should be a fun day out and I hope it is for all those who come along to watch some winter speedway. If you have read something else into my post you are sadly mistaken.
  18. To be honest CC I really don't care. Sorry but all I want to do is turn up on the 4th January, watch a fun speedway meetng, then go home and have dinner. And then wait for the speedway season to start and see how we can defend our title. All the petty nit picking on here does Newport and their supporters no good at all. A shame they can't let it go, even if it for one season only.
