  1. Couldn’t make it tonight so watching the live stream. Good stream quality. Nice amount of Pirate fans on back straight.
  2. RIP Mervyn. Mr Poole Speedway back in the day.
  3. Still a reasonable entertaining meeting and I was rooting for young Sam Hagen in heat 14 for his first win. Doyle was head and shoulders above the opposition. Heat 13 should never have been called back though as he penalised himself. Hopefully Swindon can sort out a track and return to league racing. A shame there were only a handful of Robins fans in attendance though.
  4. Well done to Sam Hagon who nearly won heat 14 but git pipped at the post by Kyle. Doyle far and away a mile better yhan every other rider. Messed ip heat 13 and was third but ref put on rdd light after second bend and warned Doyle!
  5. Well Pirate boys not fancying the track at the moment. Keeps it interesting. Cook bros tailed right off. Swindon up for it!
  6. Teams seem very lop sided to me. Poole should smash Swindon Doyle aside so whats the point? Crowd is going to be small. Only a few Swindon fans here.
  7. Trackman Terry C who does Poole, Wolverhampton and Redcar? has had a minor stroke and it out of action for a while. I have been told he is now out of hospital and recovering. I am sure we on here would all like to wish Terry C all the best and a speedy recovery.
  8. Peeing down here in Poole. Track won’t need watering anymore!
  9. Don’t forget many of these riders won’t be able to ride for anyone but their team due to the wonders of brexit.
  10. Routine win by Pirates who were not firing on all cylinders tonight. Steve Worrall was below par and Lawson didn’t have his usual edge. But other than Barker with two excellent rides, one in heat 15, it was pretty much one way traffic. Track held up well until about heat 11 when it became a little dusty but not so bad as to affect the racing. Plenty of good racing from the Pirates and Barker. Thought Turner had the speed but lacked the experience. Starke was poor as was Howarth compared to past visits. Eighteen point win and enough to progress next Tuesday in the return.
  11. Just returned from a 12k walk on the Purbeck coast and it’s a very strong easterly wind. I Haven’t seen any racing for the best part of a month so hope this is a good close meeting.
  12. Watching this in Andalucia about 90 mins drive south east of Seville. Just need to find some wifi otherwise all my data will be used! Shame I am not there should be a good one. Hopefully a good action packed meeting.
  13. Forecast is unfortunately so bad a few of us have already made the decision to not go. But in the scheme of things a rain off won’t be a disaster as it could space out our clashes a little. Meeting each other 6 times by 7th June could bring in fan fatigue seeing the same opposition over such a short space of time. Stick one clash back until later in the season would be ideal.
  14. Unfortunately the forecast hasn’t changed over the last couple of days. Hope it goes ahead should be a very good meeting.
  15. No booing whatsoever. Poole fans clapped the opposition at the beginning and Scott Nicholls got a cheer from the Poole fans as he is held in high esteem. Didn’t hear a single boo all night.
  16. World of difference between the two sides. Other than Masters and Nicholls, the rest of the Oxford team were cannon fodder. I got there at 6.10 and the queues were huge. Really the gates should have been open 30 minutes earlier and the start was delayed by 20 minutes as lines of people wound out of the stadium and onto Wimborne Road. The grandstand was almost full fifteen minutes after the gates opened. Racing wise it was one way traffic except for a tactical and heat 11. As expected Poole’s reserves steamrollered the opposition’s 6 and 7. The winner of strength in depth v top heavy is clear to see. Oxford really need a quick rethink or their season will be over as soon as it started.
  17. Meeting delayed till 7.45 parade. Still huge queues outside.
  18. Seriously large crowd building at Poole tonight. Grandstand full 15 mins after the gates opened.
  19. Should be a good one in front of predicted large crowd. Nicholls is a track expert and Masters is capable of going through the card. Kerr is no slouch either so expect some good racing. Can’t see the other 4 doing much though. 51-39ish?
  20. I never said Poole will be top. I said at the top end. The small pocket numbered over 100 and there were plenty more scattered around the rest of the stadium. Certainly a lot were kept away but as always with Poole there’s a good away following
