  1. That’s why the BSN is such a great deal. A season pass to all meetings works out at around £4 a meeting. Perfect Christmas gift for yourself or your loved one, even if they hate speedway! or if you buy on the day £11.99. Makes sense to buy a season ticket and pay per month.
  2. Very true but most knew 10 points was never enough of a lead for Oxford. If the final had been between Oxford and Poole, Cowley would have sold out in an hour. Many hundreds of Poole fans making the trip up. But not to be and it would be something for 15-20 Poole fans to make the trip to Glasgow. Too far for all but the most die hard. A ten hour trip up, and if the meeting finishes at 8pm Poole fans will be getting indoors around 6am. A couple of hundred pounds in fuel, food, entrance fee. Alternatively, watch it on BSN for £4. Bit of a no brainer. I flew up 2 years ago which saved time, but cop26 was on and hotel rooms were £600 a night. Slept (didn’t sleep) in airport. Got home 11.30 am. Poole fan who dropped us at airport got home 9.30 am knackered.
  3. Pirates get second leg. Yes next Wednesday will be called off if the first leg hasn’t taken place.
  4. First leg announced for this Friday, 6th October. Forecast is lousy so is it a ploy to get Poole all the way up there on a wasted journey? Pretty sure the travelling Pirates fans will be miffed if it’s called off having wasted some serious cash making the very long trip. Sundays forecast looks a lot better. Guess we will have to just wait and see. Expecting a sodden deep track just like last night if it goes ahead as planned. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/gcuvz3bch#?date=2023-10-06
  5. First dry day in Glasgow is Sunday. Friday is rain most of the day.
  6. So all roads lead to Glasgow on Sunday at 6pm, when the super strong Tigers take on the Pirates. With Vissing fit but likely to not ride, Glasgow can use riders on form to more than cover. Complin tonight showed what he can do around Ashfield and will probably get 6-7 rides in the first leg. Pirates job is to keep it tight and the last time the two teams met here ended in a two point win to the tigers. However, since then Glasgow have strengthened up with Tarasenko coming in, making them favourites to win the title this year. But Poole never give up and even coming into the final as underdogs, will fight for every point and try and retain the title. The odds might be stacked but we will fight all the way. Should be a great couple of matches. Bring it on!
  7. Watched the PL final on Eurosport but the BSN production knocks that into a cocked hat tbh. Watched the Glasgow v Oxford meeting in 40 mins on fast forward and it was much better.
  8. Made harder work with that than I expected, but if they had failed to have pulled back 10 points it would have been classed as a choke. A shame for Oxford but they were their own worst enemies, with Kerr and Boughen breaking the tapes, and a bit of luck for Glasgow in heat 12 with Pijper falling allowing Complin in. So off we go to Glasgow. A shame it wasn’t Oxford as it’s 2 hours up the road and many of us now will be watching on BSN. Commiserations to Oxford but ten was never enough against that powerhouse Glasgow team. Hopefully track conditions will be a bit better in the final whenever the first leg is.
  9. Completely flat for the playoff final. A shame. Twenty point lead coming up.
  10. Look at the teams in 2010. Plus CH was in peak WC form back then before his accident.
  11. Think the BSPA should bring in the Polish rule in that all tracks should be prepared within certain parameters. They had all day to prepare a decent surface but produced this. Yes it gives Ipswich a massive home advantage but for the fans it’s a very poor spectacle.
  12. Chris Holder can’t handle the conditions. Never rode Ipswich well in his Pirate days and back then the track was smoother and slick. He will have a lot of making up to do in the second leg.
  13. Ipswich have nailed on 8 points in 13 and 15 unless Lambert can get in there. They should have a healthy lead.
  14. Now Howarth takes a purler. The showcase event wrecked by track prep.
  15. The two mins needs to come on while Tatum is showing the replay rather than waiting for it to be done. with the tractor out, hopefully they can get some of the lumps and bumps out and slicked it off a bit. Not an entertaining meeting, with Pickering, Lawson and Holder especially struggling badly.
  16. It’s absolutely nothing like Poole. Poole is very smooth and slick. This is the opposite.
  17. Terrible rough track. Hume all four back a joke. Track causing riders to be all over the place. Lawson who is a seasoned rider struggling to turn a bike. Embarrassing for a final. Might see heat 15 by 10.30pm
  18. Seriously Glasgows to lose. Looking at the teams they have a clear advantage and are at home. If they fail it would be a major surprise.
  19. Well if Vissing is not fit tonight, he surely will be for the final in a weeks time so no excuse not to use him. He said he was fit and speedway doesn’t use a squad system, so Glasgow would perhaps need a doctors certificate to counter the rider saying he is fit. It would be very poor to leave a rider out of the team who help get the club to the final in the first place.
  20. I have never scrolled down to see that. But at least it’s there so I can use it. Thanks
  21. Watch Eurosport and watch Glasgow v Oxford immediately afterwards, “live”. And hope Kelvin Tatum doesn’t give any score updates.
