Best meeting I have ever seen from Berwick. Some good racing and Borke is a find. Craig Cook looks like Emperor Ming. -

Impressed with Bastian Borke. Getting stuck in. -
It really is that straight forward. You can buy all you need taylor made setups that need very little tinkering. You do need camera operators, a person to operate the desk, and a couple of commentators. Redcar do it on a budget and it pays for them. Think they only have a 2 or 3 camera setup and one is unmanned. In fact, a one camera setup with commentary is all that is needed for a basic stream. It doesn’t have to be at the same standard as BSN. The guys that do Poole and Plymouth would certainly advise to what is required. Let’s be honest we all want the sport to prosper regardless of rivalries. Every club should offer a streaming service. It doesn’t affect attendances and brings in bonus revenue. To refuse the service is poor business acumen. Just take next Sunday as an example. Plenty of speedway fans would be interested in watching Glasgow v Poole. Say 150 Poole fans signed up for the stream, plus another 100 fans from other clubs. 250 paying 11.99 = £2997.50.

Glasgow v Poole Championship. 30/7/23 6pm

No flights Bournemouth to Glasgow. Southampton to Glasgow but it’s extortionate. Either Bristol or Gatwick on EasyJet. Cheaper parking at Bristol. -
Nice and easy last night on a poor track that gave little to no top notch racing. After all the abuse thrown at Poole’s track, Glasgow produce a dire surface bereft of dirt and making it a race to the first bend. After all the hype I was expecting some superb Speedway, but the Glasgow track failed to produce anything of merit, bar one heat where Basso chased after, but failed to pass Ben Cook. Next weekend we have the league meeting, which won’t be streamed so unless you are there live you are going to miss out. What a massive missed opportunity to get some much needed money in the coffers. Do the Glasgow promotion think by not streaming it live, there will be an armada of Poole fans heading up for the 20 hour round trip? Other clubs have already proved streaming doesn’t affect attendances but certainly does boost the bank account of the club. Well done to Pirates. Commiserations to Glasgow.

Well after tonight all eyes will be on the Championship meeting to be held next Sunday at 6PM. Tonight we have been told the track was very different to normal and there’s usually more passing than we witnessed on BSN. Yer, right! So will Glasgow doctor the track again from the norm, or will they make it extra deep and grippy? Every trick in the book will no doubt come out to give Glasgow the biggest advantage possible to bring to Poole. I don’t blame them, they have to do what they can. But changing the track takes away home advantage. And Poole will be able to use a T/R next Sunday if needs be. And not use Roynon in heat 14. I am guessing there will be no stream, which is frankly pathetic these days. Don’t thenGlasgow promotion realise there is money to be made from streaming and they are missing out on tapping into a large speedway fanbase who would be more than happy to splash out 12 quid to watch the meeting on their TV’s? Fans who would not be at Ashfield anyway? There will be a few Poole fans making the trip. Rob is flying up from Bristol to Glasgow, arriving at 2pm then busing it in to the centre. Flying back 8 am the next day. Approx £80 return for flights, £20 bus to centre, plus train, plus hotel, plus £70 car park at Bristol. Ouch! Hope it’s not rained off! Will Glasgow get enough of a lead to bring to Poole for the bonus? Will Poole turn over Glasgow? Could be a belter. Thoughts?

Well it was all very easy as expected for Poole. Would have liked to have won on the night but Havvy seemed to settle for aggregate by putting out Roynon in heat 14. Pirates in second gear. More at stake a week on Sunday. But a poor meeting with very little overtaking. Just one race of merit when Basso chased down Ben Cook but failed to pass. Mostly from the gate only kept interesting by when Pirates would have the points to raise our glasses. Track certainly didn’t live up to the Glasgow fans praise. Rubbish in fact. Think Wimborne Road is far superior. Up The Pirates! BSN Champions!
