  1. Craig Cook would make an ideal number one for Workington. He is local, a solid rider, certainly at Championship level, and would certainly prefer the Workington track to the tight turns of Edinburgh. Good luck to him if he chooses to continue his career in the sport.
  2. So let’s hear Glasgow fans thoughts. Paulco has given his opinion. Let’s hear how this 1-7 are going to emulate 23.
  3. Well I do normally get to be aware of signings soon after they happen. But in confidence means that I certainly wouldn’t post what I hear/know on this forum. If I did, I certainly wouldn’t be told anything. And I would assume the same goes for others on here from other clubs.
  4. Why would I know whether Poole are moving up or not? I am not personal friends with Danny Ford. And even if I did know (which I don’t) anything told to me in confidence would remain that way until officially released.
  5. It’s my opinion. There’s a saying, “there’s non so blind as those that will not see.” Understanding cannot be forced on someone who chooses to be ignorant. If you honestly believe that 1-7 will “do an Ipswich” then good luck to you. If Poole had announced that 1-7 I would be angry and gutted and call it out for what it is. You don’t honestly, deep down, believe that is a decent side, do you?
  6. Would love it but don’t think there’s enough variety of teams and if that was the case why would we have let Anders Rowe go as he would be ideal as a RS. Not sure that rumour has any legs.
  7. You tell yourself that. Most others can see that 1-7 for what it is. If Poole announced that lineup there would be uproar and complete ridicule. Its incredulous Glasgow seem to be making no effort to retain in 24.
  8. Just have to have business acumen. Facenna is a successful businessman and successful businessmen don’t throw good money after bad. Like any businessman he will cut his cloth to the relative income of the club. Now he has won his title it’s clear that is happening, if the muted team is the actual team. Harris and Worrall are British based and affordable. Flint, Starke won’t be on big wages. Complin, Pearson and Pijper will be on the usual rates for reserves. No paying for flights as all UK based. No big signing on fees, no paying for hotels/accomodation. Pretty much a shoestring side, and will be pretty difficult to find one put together that will be as cheap to finance. This isn’t a dig at Glasgow at all. Some other teams might also be this weak.
  9. It’s probably down to finances. Glasgow 2023 cost an absolute fortune and with not very large crowds probably cost Faccena a small fortune. Bringing in Tarasenko would have cost an arm and a leg and perhaps now Faccena has won a title he is going to cut his cloth to fit the clubs income. That 2024 team would cost way less than 2023.
  10. Complin could do himself a massive favour this winter by going in a keto diet. He would shift the weight no problem, if he wanted to. Be a far better rider next year by doing so.
  11. Says someone whose club has just put together a 1-7 destined for the wooden spoon. lol! Defence of the league? More like de fence along de side of the de garden!
  12. You are happy with that team? Seriously no one can be happy with that! lol! It’s a shocking team if correct. Glasgow 2024.
  13. Well all tickets are being refunded so that looks like that for 2023.
  14. Glasgow bigger club? How on earth are Glasgow bigger with crowds rarely an over 1000? How many titles have Glasgow won? They might currently have a very rich owner but that’s it. Just saying. Anyway your new number one is Steve Worrall. Likeable guy and a pro.
  15. He was always going to drop the Championship and the reason Poole made the call to swap with Lawson, who will be riding it until he retires.
  16. That’s the team Glasgow have “assembled” for 2024. From hero’s to zeros!
  17. There’s a Pirates rider heading to Glasgow, but it isn’t the Cooks.
  18. Surely Glasgow fans have no objections? I mean, it’s no different to Tarasenko coming in.
  19. Such a low average for team building is causing issues as promotions have only fractions of a point to squeeze together the team they want. Anders wanted to be at Poole, the fans wanted him at Poole and he is a local lad. Next season: Lawson 8.49 Ben Cook 7.39 Zach Cook 6.22 Dominik Kubera 5.0 Mateusz Cierniak 5.0 Sam Hagon 2.57 Max Perry 2.0 37.18
  20. Starke? Never in a month of Sundays. He is well past his best. Expect a team like Plymouth or Berwick to sign him but a Poole rider he never will be. Too old, not got any improvement in him. Really should retire. Looked a complete spent force last year and not interested.
  21. Good stuff. Fingers crossed the weather stays dry enough for this to take place and we win our second team trophy of the year. Tomorrow is mostly a dry day with the occasional shower passing through. Friday similar with 40% chance of. Shower currently.
  22. Shows how big Poole are compared to any other club when if we actually lose a final there’s a pile on. So rare has been this event. And next year we can be sure Poole will be up there again at the end of the season. Has been this way since the millennium and nothing will change that. A shame tonight is off but the rain was torrential last night and with rain still around at the moment it’s no surprise. Hopefully there’s time to re-arrange before 1st November
  23. Bit of rain developed this morning in the Poole area. Hopefully it will move away early enough for our excellent track staff to work their magic. Very heavy rain here yesterday evening.
  24. Struggle to understand why Wolverhampton council never stepped in to say speedway must remain and refuse planning permission for dogs on a monday night. As for tomorrow, its not a challenge. Every team in the league participated and so its no different to the k o cup. Just a shame leicester couldnt get their act together last season.
  25. Silly idea then. 20 Fans from each club and a tiny scattering of Sheffield fans. No wonder the idea was chucked.
