Director needs to understand that a battle at the back is just as important as who wins by 50 metres. -

Poole’s crowds are still bigger than anything we have seen before tonight. Other than the fans of these clubs no one gives a hoot who wins. Think Panthers will do it fairly easy though if BV pull it off, we’ll done to them. -

Looks like a big crowd, much bigger than Monday. -
I personally don’t think 6 points is enough of a lead to progress. Such a shame we put ourselves in such a position by choosing Leicester. Was always too much of a risk. Oh well we will have to wait and see. Not the end of the world if we bomb out and I have enjoyed visiting different tracks this year. Certainly we have the best team this year but all it takes is to under perform in one meeting for the season to be over. Just nice to be able to attend and watch live racing after the last 18 months of Covid.

GPS looking to. E on the Discovery+ channel, which is streaming only and highlights will be on Eurosport. So £6.95 a month to watch live.

A real pain. Anyone else getting these pop ups? Or have I done something to enable advertising pop ups on speedway-forum?

Travelling all day with an early start to a track you haven’t ridden for a while would not have helped you. Smashed is perhaps the wrong word but beaten relatively easily might be a better use of the English language. This has been my stance from the get go and nothing had changed my mind. Unfortunately proved to be completely correct, more is the pity.

Well first of all well done to Leicester who held us to a very measly 6 point advantage. I hate to say I told you so but a treble mistake was made. First of all in picking Leicester when they were the last time to ride here. No way were we going to get close to what we scored last time. Their riders would have known setups etc and would be at it from the first heat. And the fact that some of our riders are stale while Leicester rode last night showed up clearly. Secondly having the first leg to ease other clubs fixture congestion was a bad error. Doing favours for clubs doesn’t help us as it’s never or rarely reciprocated. And thirdly, why the hell didn’t we pick Edinburgh? I know a Derby for the Scottish clubs means bumper crowds for their clubs but this is the title at stake, not helping rival clubs at the pointy end of the season. Their riders would have had to travel down all day and we could have smashed them. I have said all this over the last week and my predictions have been spot on. Back to tonight and our staleness at the gate was clearly evident. Lions heat after heat having a bike length heading into bend one. Poole battled hard but if you give riders like Morris, Harris and Howarth a lead they love the track and are almost impossible to pass. Some very good races tonight as Pirates attempted to pass and stay in the meeting. Is 6 enough to defend? No, if tonight was anything to go by. Not having track time showed riders like Danny King to look a little rusty. He tried all night but never saw a lead in any of his heats. Advantage Leicester to go through to the final. It should be very tight but riders like the Thompson twins, who were nowhere near a point tonight, are likely to score, as is Kennedy who battled tonight. Well done to them.

Of course it is. While there is little between Andersen and Harris at Leicester, Harris is far superior to Andersen around Poole. We need all our riders on top form tomorrow to take a lead to Leicester. No room for passengers. I think this is going to be extremely tight with Leicester strengthening up.

Leicester vs Poole semi 2nd leg (prov) Sat 16th
Steve Shovlar replied to lbw's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It absolutely stinks that Leicester have done this. Saturday and Sunday is SON, so what about the fans who have tickets for Saturday and Sunday at Belle Vue? Why on earth isn’t this meeting on Friday night? What possible reason can they give to wreck peoples plans at such short notice? It beggars belief that they have done this. They could run on Friday, or even Thursday at a push. Bad promotion. -

I would rather Andersen rode on Wednesday. Never great around Poole and a guest might score more. -

Lyon said they had withdrawn him as he bashed his head on the temple. If it was just a cut Andersen would be riding. -

Title has now been decided. Only a massive croak for Panthers will lose this. As a neutral it’s a shame BV didn’t get a ten point lead but Panthers were not harmed at all by Andersen injuring himself. They had the riders to cover. Nicholls turned the clock back and rode a blinder on a track he doesn’t usually ride well. It would be great for Bjarne to hang up his leathers with a league title, and we can give him a proper send off at Poole at the end of this month.
