What an absolute utter pain that this meeting coincides with COP26. Half the cities tourist sites are shut. A large area is cordoned off from the general public, and everywhere will be packed out making for a not very pleasurable experience. Might get to film a protest riot or something though. I suppose the best way to get to the stadium is by train to Ashfield, which is quite regular. Return gets us in at 10.25 meaning a rush to the bus station or a curry if one is still open for customers at 10.30. Mr Singhs closes at 10.30pm. Chaakoo Indian cafe is open until midnight and is central. We can take a taxi from there to the airport for allegedly £17. Will the taxis be allowed to hike their prices? Not officially but Sods law they will. All we need now is a cracking meeting.

I would take a 49-41 defeat. But anything into 52-38 is dangerous ground. I would be surprised and disappointed if we gave up a large lead. The team is riding well, we have 3 heat leaders and the second strings and reserve are doing well. We lost at the start of the season but lost Rory in heat 1 and he is in good form. This is his final hurrah and he will want to leave everything in the track to bring home a trophy to end his career.

Rule change for tape exclusion
Steve Shovlar replied to Endeavour's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Start Marshalls need to be much more consistent and in line with every club in the league like in Poland. No lining up at an angle other than 90 degrees to the tapes. Front wheel one inch from tapes, which need to be taut. If a rider moves they will hit the tapes and be exc. if they roll back, the will be exc. -
Surely if Kent are closing move the show to Eastbourne and open next season.

Of course it’s not ignorance. It’s friendly banter. I could have said perhaps Nessy will be in the crowd for extra support or I am looking forward to a deep fried Mars bar washed down with some Irn Brew. With an och aye the noo thrown in for good measure. Most would see it has harmless banter and nothing more. Surprised we haven’t all been called Dorset Knobs in return. Scotland is a beautiful country and I love to visit the Highlands. But it seems it’s best to avoid the main cities where the welcome isn’t as friendly as the folk who live in more rural areas.
