No he didn’t there was always a gap. I am not saying it wasn’t very hard but at least this shows Toft back wheel hit the dirt berm which threw him to the fence. He saw Lawson, gave a little way, then with Lawson charging under, hit the berm and lost it. In real time it’s easy to see why the ref excluded Lawson, but he and the crowd were fooled by the speed of the incident. No wonder Lawson when interviewed straight after the heat was so incensed.

A 5-1 gets swapped with rolling rider winning it. Plymouth had the perfect guest in Howarth and I expected the worst in heat 15. But we’ll done to Lawson in seeing off the Andersen and Howarth with his steel shoe hanging off. Here’s a clip of the crash. As can be seen, no contact although they get close. Palm Toft hits some dirt which throws him out to the fence.

Barker on gas and air after a fall at Peterborough. Not likely to be riding. I am missing this one due to seeing Elton John on his farewell tour at Bristol. I am going to order the stream. Is it available to watch after the event?

Tai looks a spent force. Able to raise his game for a couple of heats a meeting but looks lightweight. Not getting stuck in at all. Bewley now looks far more aggressive and accomplished.

Woffinden a shadow of his previous self. Janowski struggling to regain the heights of three years ago. Bewley looking like a breath of fresh air. Looks like the Polish commentary think very highly of him. Not going to be Wroclaws season.

Manchester is right up north. Not central at all. Holding the event at a neutral venue will not attract many local fans. Holding at Poole will guarantee a pretty full stadium just from the locals. Add in many travelling fans for a day out at the UKs premier resort will pack the place out.

Ablitt did a good job gating when Bens chain had come off. Could stop Allen coming around but blocked Cole’s which led to his fall. Downside was Ben was not under power so ended up with two riders only meaning a 3-2.

Did you watch heat 14 FB? Ablitt gated, Allen went around the outside but Coles was beautifully blocked by Ablitt and lost control, lifting and coming off. But for Bens chain coming off we would have got the 3-3 and at least a draw.

That’s frustrating. 10-2 down to pull it back only to have Ben Cook shed a chain in heat 14 to give a 3-2 to Scunthorpe and Douglas hold off a titanic fight with King in heat 15 to get them the victory they didn’t deserve. Good news is Drew Kemp came back to form. King still got serious issues with his bikes. But a much better performance from the team after last weeks capitulation.

Crap decision. Clearly knocked off otherwise why on earth would he fall?. And as usual a 1-5 turns into a 5-1.

Looking at the lineups, Poole look stronger. Downside is matches are not run on paper and lesser riders like Lambert and Kennedy can be match winners at home. Add to that current form, or lack of, from Drew and Nathan and we could end up with a result like last season. Drew needs to get over his prang a couple of weeks ago and start scoring again. His confidence surely can’t be so fragile that a fall, albeit fairly nasty, sets him back like it has. From winning heats with ease, suddenly he’s tailed off at the back. He is better than that and no is the time to show it.

Just ordered the live stream. £11.99 is cheaper than £100 fuel round trip +£20 entry and prog. Plus a days travelling in 30 degrees and getting home at 4am.
