  1. So Poole V Oxford now 9th October at Wimborne Road. We get second leg after all and Ben should be back for both legs.
  2. Doubt it. Bournemouth are a very exciting team. Most shots other than the top three. Never boring to watch.
  3. Ticket price was £27.50 for me, £22.50 for my daughter. Always good value for away matches in the Premier League with a ceiling of £30. Tomorrow the Bournemouth v Manchester City tickets are on sale for me, and the price will be £43 + postage. However, the money generated by ticket sales for all PL clubs is a negligible % compared to the TV money and they could all let everyone in for free and not really feel it. Ticket sales for Bournemouth are something like 4-5% of the clubs revenue. Shows how much money is involved. If British speedway had 1% of footballs revenue the sport would be in good shape.
  4. Yes it’s now wet and the rain has expanded and set in. As I said, right call. Just a shame the rearranged fixture clashes with other sports many of us attend. Bet Alan Bates is p*ssed as Newcastle are at Everton and he has no chance of attending The final.
  5. I just booked a spot at Leicester Homebase which is a ten minute walk away. If I head out of Leicester on the Welford Road, Asquith/Atlee/Glenhills Way, I might have half a chance to get to the M1 without gridlock. As I am late does the Oxford car park at Unipart ever get completely full?
  6. Looks like the rain forecast has been over egged. Rain nowhere near heavy and most of it moving up the country to the west of Oxford. They might get a bit but not the heavy constant rain for hours that was predicted. Too late now though and the right move to make.
  7. All reviews at Leicester say it takes at least 40 mins from leaving stadium to getting out of car parks. Plus on arrival trying to park.
  8. Imagine if I had left 5 minutes early at Goodison a couple of weeks ago.
  9. The least the Oxford promotion could do would be delay the start until 8pm to allow fans to get to Cowley from Leicester.
  10. Noooooooooooooo! Absolutely thoughtless date for us football fans. I for one am at Kingpower for Leicester v AFCB. As are many other Poole fans who also attend football. Oh well I will have to watch on BSN when I get back home.
  11. Would have thought next Monday or Thursday to use one of the spires days.
  12. Just seen the latest forecast which shows heavy rain tomorrow evening. Frustratingly due early evening after a dry day meaning all the Poole fans will have made the journey before it’s likely called off.
  13. Fricke was red hot around there when he was number one. But he has lost it and is very inconsistent in the U.K. A number one should be first in the queue to ride heat 15 but Lawson and Douglas volunteered.
  14. Really? Well if it’s off, Ben Cook should be back for the second leg, if he feels OK for it. Latest forecast shows a dry Tuesday but rain coming in on Wednesday afternoon. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/gcpn7mp10#?date=2024-09-25
  15. Yes and he will miss the Championship final regardless of how he feels. But a week Wednesday is the first leg of the KO Cup and if he feels fine, then there’s nothing to stop him. But only Ben can make that call. A few years ago there was no concussion protocol, so it’s a good thing that there now is, to stop riders returning too early and being a risk to themselves and others.
  16. All over. The rain killed the final. As soon as it arrived it was one way traffic. For Masters and Fricke to refuse to ride in heat 15 speaks volumes.
  17. But as the track has become sodden the home riders feel safer on it than riders who only ride it a couple of times a year. BV were always clear favourites. The Champions were always coming from the northern semi.
  18. Fricke was number one here. Sam Hagon has done a more impressive job tonight.
  19. All over. The rain has wrecked the meeting and given BV a massive advantage going into the second leg. In fact it’s all over. No chance for Leicester to pull back 18 points.
  20. Fricke has been terrible, considering the amount of racing he has done around BV.
