Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like we've landed on our feet.

Can you give us Lions fans who don't know much about Damien Bates an idea of what good or bad changes he has made at Owlerton since he has been involved. Thanks.

Say it ain't so. The new promotion are expecting Hemsley (who thought there was nothing wrong with the track & has speedway debts still to pay) to foot the bill for track changes? That isn't going happen during this 15 year lease then! , -

I have never seen the Saturday restriction in any of the planning documents. If you look at the attached planning permission approved it just states the track cannot be used outside 08:00-22:30 daily and no more than 50 meetings can take place a year. http://fdweb.leicester.gov.uk/planning/fdweb/Image.aspx?pbfc=714 -

The planning permission/consent is all on-line and available to view. I haven't had chance to trawl back through it again, but I am sure when I looked previously there was no stipulation about which day could be raced on, there was just a limit of, I think 50 meetings a year. If there was a restriction surely DH would have given this as a the reason previously. When I've spoke to him about the change he has always said it would be financial suicide based on the experience of a few meetings we held midweek._ -

Am pretty sure all of The volunteers are still in place. Linda Jones has still been updating Facebook, twitter & web-site if any news is passed onto her. -
Palm-Toft for Lindgren. From world speedway.com (Friday) :- The Lions are back in track action on Saturday against the Coventry Bees. It will be the first time in five weeks that the Lions have raced at Beaumont Park and the second time in twenty-four hours that the two clubs have faced one another following the Elite League fixture at Coventry tonight. There are changes on both sides. The Bees are missing their top scorer and Grand Prix rider Krzysztof Kasprzak who is appearing in Round 2 of the Speedway European Championship in Latvia. Kasprzaks absence will be covered by a guest. Whilst for the Paul Chapman and Sons Lions they welcome back Paul Starke who was riding for his Premier League club Somerset last night but lose Ludvig Lindgren also due to a clash of fixtures with his second tier club the Newcastle Diamonds who have a match at Workington. It is a big plus to have Paul back in the side but that is counteracted by the fact that we lose Ludvig who has been our ace at reserve since he joined us and on current form he is our second highest scorer behind Nicolai Klindt at Leicester said the Lions Team Manager, Norrie Allan. Lindgrens place in the team will be filled by Michael Palm Toft who rides for Scunthorpe in the Premier League. The Dane guested for Leicester recently in their match at Belle Vue and ended the night as Leicesters top scorer with thirteen points which included three heat wins against one of his former clubs. I promised Michael after the Belle Vue meeting that should we require a guest again this season and his match average fitted he would be the first person I would contact to offer him another appearance. I am pleased that he was available and accepted our invitation to race for Leicester again added Allan. Coventry: 1. Guest tbc for Krzysztof Kasprzak, 2. Jason Garrity, 3. Danny King, 4. Josh Bates, 5. Chris Harris, 6. Kacper Woryna and 7. James Sarjeant Leicester: 1. Patrick Hougaard, 2. Aaron Summers, 3. Nicolai Klindt, 4. Paul Starke, 5. Szymon Wozniak, 6. Michael Palm Toft and 7. Belle Vue V Leicester Friday 8th April.

If it was off due to Leicester, then surely BV would say It was at the request of Leicester. BV's reputation is in the gutter, why would they take the further bad press saying it was due to weather. -
You must think we've got short memories. He was outed a few pages back as a different Dave. Good to hear a team sponsor has been found & I'm all for improvements on the social media & PR side.
-
Any news on a team sponsor? I think it's more worrying than the below average team line up, that for 2 years running the Lions have failed to secure a main sponsor, especially as I thought this was one of the things Neil Machin was brought in to assist with. I just hope the confirmation on a TV meeting may help lure a company to become a sponsor.
-
What is the latest news on the club obtaining a team sponsor for 2016? DH said previously they couldn't have another year like this year without a main sponsor & I thought this was what Neil Machin was brought in to assist in.

http://www.cabinet.leicester.gov.uk/documents/s63295/20132313%20-%201%20THE%20LIONS%20LEICESTER%20LIONS%20SPEEDWAY.pdf The planning documents show there is no restriction on the day speedway is run as long as it is between 08:00 - 22:30 and no more than 50 meetings per year. I spoke to DH 2 weeks ago when Glyn Taylor had the ride n slide event at the track & I asked him about the potential change of race night. He said the Lions would continue to ride on Saturdays whilst he was the promoter (no one else has offered to takeover). Said he couldn't sustain financial losses of racing in midweek, it would kill the club as crowds were down on weekdays. He quoted the Poole meeting & GB v Aus challenge match as examples.

Does anyone have info on the below points I've heard little about recently :- I heard that Neil Machin, formerly promoter at Sheffield is now co-promoter at Leicester. Unfortunately I didn't get last weeks Speedway star (where I believe this was covered) or hear the interview Rob Sensical did on Monday. Can someone clarify the reason he has been brought in & what the thinking is behind it? Any news on the Jason Doyle transfer? It was due to go to a tribunal, but I have not heard anything since. I heard that DMU are working with Beaumont Town FC on a £2M upgrade of their pitch facilities. I take it this is on the current football pitches and will not use any of the land around the speedway. Is this an opportunity missed? -

Just catching up on the Radio Leicester interview DH & Alan Jones did on thursday. They had an email in from a Ken, no surname given! (Think we can guess who that was! ) asking about what was going on with other sports at the BP site. DH was less optimistic than he was last time he was on Radio Leicester & basically said there was nothing lined up at the mo, but the council were asking what was going on. Pretty sure last year when he was asked he said there should be work starting on a BMX track. Does anyone know if the council might start threatening to pull the plug on speedway if nothing happens soon on the site or are they just repeatedly asking DH about it as per the planning conditions & they are no overly concerned. -

How much involvement did Norrie have on the draft selections? The draft was done November 2013 & Norrie took over officially Feb 2014 & was said to have been working in the background "for a few weeks".
