  1. As an Ipswich fan why are you on a Swindon thread?
  2. All I can say it is a good job Gavan does not select the Poole team. Perhaps Chris Louis would like his advice as to The Ipswich line up.☺️
  3. What everyone has to remember is who the riders are on the books of. Of the team suggested I think Somerset have Wright, Starke and Allen as assets. Not sure about Wilson-Dean. Harris is Coventry but he wants away. Tungate is Ipswich, but Not sure he wants to return to Ipswich. Holder and although not mentioned Josh G are both Poole. I feel Poole could well want to include at least one of these in their team.
  4. Come on Rebels. Lift the cup tonight. You deserve it. Wish I could be there but not too well at the moment.
  5. Gavin. Just trying to lighten up the atmosphere. Many things are said on this forum that, in my opinion get too heated and arguements/discussions seem to go on and on. Nothing against either you, Steve or anyone else. Everyone is entitled to their view. I ain't got a clue who is right.
  6. Well done Rebels winning the first leg. Hope they complete the job tomorrow.
  7. That is the question. Gavin seems to be in the know as he is adiment he is right. Perhaps he has been invited to go on the Committee that decide these things. On the other hand perhaps Steve knows and is helping to sort it out. Answers on a postage stamp. We will all know soon enough.
  8. I think this thread should be renamed The what average should Kyle Newman be on thread.
  9. I would not be surprised if the 5 point Lindback scored for Poole were the most expensive points ever paid out. A great mistake. Poole are one of the richer teams but I truly do not expect they could afford this. I have written before that everything is up in the air until after the agm. My reason for thinking this is what form will the leagues take. With so many clubs in such a bad state will there be an EL and if so what top foreign riders will ride in it. Personally I could see a top league of about 12 clubs butnearer to the existing PL standard than the existing EL. After that a second division with a standard in between the PL and NL. After that a small other league with a standard of the old CL when it first started. This is not the way I want to see it go but at least we would have speedway. This is the reason I feel the ongoing discussions/arguments re the averages of people like Kyle Newman is a little premature.
  10. Perhaps we can talk about the Poole team for next season and not discuss general speedway topics like EDR, 6 man teams etc. When AGM is held we will know what the make up of teams will be. I do appreciate that there will be people who will speculate on team build up but at the moment we have no foundations to build on.
  11. Just a bit confused. Is the final over two legs? If so do you think it would be fitted in before the end of the season?
  12. I wonder what Plymouth Devils team would be if they entered this league next year. I believe they do have some assets.
  13. Sorry but you are banging a drum as well. As I keep on saying only the BSPA will make the rules. They may not be everyone's favourites but they are the ones with the power. If you want to lobby them before the AGM fine but don't think any fan can do much else.
  14. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. What I do not understand is why Gavin, Starman and others think they are the ones that are right. What they all must realise they can put their thoughts but can not say x is going is defiantly above this average or should be that. People always have their own favourite team but do not have an imput as to what the BSPA decide. As I said you always look out for your team so all I can say is come on you Rebels.
  15. For goodness sake leave poor Kyle alone. If you want to talk about Poole in general fine. If you want to talk about EDR open a separate thread, please.
  16. We all know your opinion but others are entitled to theirs. I am not saying who is right but nobody on this forum will be involved in making any of the final rules.
  17. Speedway is in a bad state of affairs. I don't think there is any argument to that. It is a great sport that used to attract big crowds. Unfortunately not now. I am not looking at the reasons for this in thread but merely trying to gauge which teams are attracting reasonable crowds that could ensure the sport remains. I do understand costs are relative to the league they run in. I can see that Wolves and Poole attract reasonable crowds in EL. Also Somerset and Glasgow in PL. I will be interested in others thoughts.
  18. Well done Rebels. Best team in the league by far. Looking at a previous post from Gavin I could not believe he wants a Dorset boy from Puddletown in his team.
  19. Are you sure you are not Matt Ford in disguise as you seem to know so much about Poole plans for next year.
  20. Good luck Rebels. You have topped the league all season and I hope you now win the knockout.
  21. I just do not understand these people, who have no say, say this will be done and this or that avererage will be adjusted. None of us know what will happen at the BSPA meeting in November and what will or will not be agreed. There are many things that could happen but whatever it is I hope will make speedway be more attractive for the paying public. Take any sport other than speedway there has always been a squad to take into account injury or loss of form. I can not see teams having a number in there squad but some kind of movement to this could help. I know we do not want teams to be too strong but some clubs can afford more than other as in other sports. Also some riders do not want to ride for some employers for various reasons. Let's hope agreement will be reached in November and we may have 3 good leagues. You will never please everyone and some people will never be satisfied.
  22. You Gavin. Where in my post did I say anything about Kyles averages.
  23. OK. A slip of the finger. You know it was meant to be all teams. Mind you the way crowds are dropping around some tracks a number like Plymouth could go out of business. Having said that, as a Plymouthian I hope they do come back even in the National League.
  24. The way averages are sorted out is the same for all teams. Agreed the BSPA have made a rod for their own backs with the reserves and second strings. It has been very stupid on reflection and must be sorted. However, I state again it is the same for both teams. Gavin, you say in your post that Kyle took the world champion from the back. Correct, but he is only a second string riding at No 4
