  1. so your boss can control what you do when you are not working for him.
  2. I for one was glad it was called off before any bad injuries. It means Poole get no points but that is of no importance compared with safety. Personally I don't blame Lakeside for wanting it off after 10 heats they wanted and needed the 3points. Reading some of the other posts on this forum I truly feel that some contributors only have one point of view and repeat the same stories time and time again. Middleo did not say he wanted to carry on after heat 10. He has his faults but so do every team manager at some time or other. They stick up for their own team which is nothing more than you would expect. People always dislike any kind of team that is successful and have more cash to splash than other teams. This is the same in all sports. However, if people want to keep repeating themselves so be it and if people want to dislike Any team nobody will change them. I openly admit that I used to go to Poole and always follow there progress but must say I prefer the racing at Somerset and Plymouth in the PL.
  3. if the meeting continues so be it but I hope all riders are safe. I am afraid your comments are so predictable and you alway appear to have the same thing to say.
  4. Talking THIS season I take it the thing that has upset some people is the second reserve position. I agree Poole have not got the best track record with this position. BUT to be totally honest they have no profited from the changes. What else have they done wrong THIS season?
  5. Yes. Anyone would break their collarbone because Matt Ford instructs them!!
  6. If Darcy gets a ban and With Pawlicki injured there could be some changes. Wait for the reactions when these are announced!
  7. Get well soon Tai. Great loss to the whole sport.
  8. As I have said before the matter is in the hands of the FIM. Are you suggesting Matt Ford controls them? With regard to the match today Poole can not be seen to take any stance until the FIM give their ruling. All you people who make statements that Poole should make a stance I would say to them a) would the owners of the club you support drop one of their riders who has not broken their contract? Also, what is the legal stance for this, would they be allowed to take a riders living away from him unless he has broken his contract. They would not be allowed any facility until the FIM ruling is delivered. I understand the feelings that are being expressed but we must all wait on the FIM.
  9. No matter what all of you on this forum say you have no say in the punishment. Fact. Everyone is entitled to their. Thoughts but only the FIM have the power to punish and impose fine and ban. What Darcy did was wrong. It is being dealt with. Matt Ford nor anyone in British Speedway, you or me have any say. We must all wait and see. All the bickering on here makes not a jot of difference.
  10. Darcy has been really stupid and must now face the punishment that is hand end out. I am not going to defend the actions. This is Poole 2014 thread and we are now coming to the sharp end of the season. Poole are obviously in the running again this year and will have to make changes if Darcy is unable to carry on. They would have to replace him but with whom. I have my own thoughts but it would be interesting to hear from others for their views. I know there are many pro and many anti Poole people on this forum so it could have some very varied views.
  11. Why don't all those that are so up in arms about cheating on the second reserve front get up a petition. They could get all the signatures and send it to the BSPA at Rugby to get Poole thrown out of the league and shut down. After all it is a hanging offence to cheat and get in a rider who scores nil unless someone falls off or retires. As I said before I do not agree with Brendon's being replaced but this has gone on far too long and people who feel so strongly should take it up with the correct authorities.
  12. As I have already said I can not and will not defend Compton. Poole should not in my opinion have changed from Brendon's. You can not go much lower and that is not against him. Taking all this into account nothing has helped Poole score more points. I take your point and agree. Poole might as well have me. A 65 year old man riding at reserve and I think I would score as many points as Pooles second reserve this season. This is a silly move, in my opinion, for Poole to have made. If they have picked another second reserve at the start of the season we would not be having this discussion.
  13. Please tell us Steve how any cheating has helped Poole. Fine I agree re Compton but how many did he score. The rest of the team is as per the start of the season. This is not an attack but a genuine question on how Poole have been helped in this by the BSPA. I totally agree re the second reserve position. However, I doubt over the season 20 points have been scored from this position and virtually all those have been gifted by non finishers in the other team. So I can understand your point please explain. As I said I do not support Pooles stance on the second reserve position.
  14. Changes at Poole this year. Smart to Hopwood Hopwood to Johnson Johnson to Compton I agree it would be better to stick to your original team. Points scored by all these riders over the season probably way under 20 and most of those when only one or two finishers.
  15. Understand most of what you are saying but the first sentence is wrong. Compton got his point when Lawson failed to leave the starting line.
  16. I see the points everyone is making and do not disagree. Questions I ask myself are 1) was the question of fast track reserves really thought through when it was brought in. 2) how can you assess a rider in this category with resorting to averages in any of the leagues. 3) does Matt Ford have the power to make rules for all of speedway and if so how? To be honest this thread does seem to just be repeating itself and has gone past the point of debate as the two sides will never agree I feel. I truly wish we could go back to the fun speedway was I the 80s & 90s when it truly was fun. Riders in the main rode for one sometimes two clubs. Money was a lot less and riders and fans mixed a great deal.
  17. Fine. But what does your opinion, mine or anyone else on this forum matter. The truth is people who want to watch speedway will and those that disagree with matters won't. The people who run speedway put their money where their mouth is. Unless any of us are willing to put up the cash we can only give an opinion but the owners will always make the rules.
  18. agree. However, many others think it is a hanging offence.
