  1. I agreewith th 50/50 assessment but if Craig didn't see him from the apex of the turn then that's a poor show and although he clearly steers to his right the marshall goes that way too, force a rider to turn right and they run the risk of the footrest digging in.
  2. The integrity issue for me is brought about by owning more than 1 club in any league, it effectively means those clubs under the same ownership can "squad" their riders so that one of them wins the league. Of course when Mike Parker tried this in the 60's he had rider control and an independent SCB to contend with nowadays the teams who are squadding are also on the Management Committee so very little to stop them winning the leagues every year.
  3. What you get on BT is streaming, it is the quality of the production that makes the difference. If the BSPA do go down this route it will be outsourced to a production company or companies and that is where it will get tricky but I take your point.
  4. It's a simple choice. BT want a 2 year deal the BSPA only want 1 so that they can pursue alternatives. Lets be honest if cost effective streaming generates more revenue for the sport it can't be ignored but streaming is, without doubt Kelvin, the way that tv is going. The Corporate world is already buying airtime on streaming servers and taking options on propositions, 2 major international household companies I work with have already set up digital broadcast facilities, it's happening and within 2 years you will not know which way to turn, a bit like Internet radio now.
  5. Maybe he was given a Polish warning and had to ride out of his skin, or else!
  6. What a great opportunity to get behind the lad and praise his achievement so far and to motivate his development going forward. Wow Speedway fans just don't see how lucky they are to be a part of someone's future success.
  7. Yes, it's based in ACU House, Wood Street, Rugby
  8. Glad to see there is still a place in society and the BSPA for eunuchs, that may explain why some of them have no bollocks at all and ban folk instead of trying to respect customer's views. Probably explains why some of them turn up late for meetings too, let's be honest if the majority of them sit about scratching their bollocks why turn up on time when you've got none? You'd have idiot all to do!
  9. I think there's an amnesty coming for keyboard warriors, not sure about blokes in shorts though!
  10. I don't think it was the track but those screwballs at that time that made it exciting, Des Lukehurst creating sparks off the safety fence/wall passing on the outside, Brian Davies putting tyre marks up the wall and Phil Woodcock clattering everybody on the way into the turns. Ross Gilbertson was a brilliant trapper and when clean away racked up the points and an absolute gentleman with it, Charlie Benham brought so much fun to an evening watching him trying to get round the place and to Pete, Wally and Maurice this was one of their best Golden Goose projects they pulled off. Trackstaff in dog stadiums spent hours cleaning up after the dogs at Romford it was the real human stuff that prevailed, with a bit of banking it could have been Exeter !
  11. I'm pleased that the Judge and jury are leaving everyone else alone and are focused on Craig with so many ill informed and frankly appalling opinions. I've fallen out with him and his father on more than one occasion but mutual respect and civility remains. As far as this forum is concerned everyone can agree to disagree quite amicably at times but on this occasion I honestly feel that this topic is showing utter disrespect not only for the person but for his alleged issues and that is the absolute pits.
  12. How about the SCB and their Referee get a grip and sort this issue out once and for all and if necessary hold up proceedings until it's sorted. If there is insufficient opportunity to prepare a decent track then postpone before the event and bowlocks to the Bank Holiday big crowd that boosts the coffers. They're saying that anyway by not watering adequately. Whoever walked that track before the meeting knew what was coming, the only reasonable excuse for dust is when rain is forecast around start time but nowhere near like that.
  13. Yes, but the jury was out on it and they had started to clawback some monies pending a judgement and advised those that were audited to declare going forward pending the outcome. It seemed different inspectors had different opinions.
  14. Yes although the vat comes out of your calcs not on top of, in other words your admission includes vat so out of £23 the vat content is £3.8333r - or £19.16 + vat. So that would be £2.50 for the programme and £16.16 admission to the club.
  15. Rumours ???? and you think it's appropriate to repeat them here?
  16. Interesting that Ipswich couldn't put a 1-7 together until Peterborough "released" a rider, with better gates at Foxhall you wouldn't want to start with a crap side, makes some sense to me.
  17. To be fair Geoff, Kyle has battered them for a job since the Worky announcement but that should have put the Glasgow reserves on their best behaviour, changes have been made on the eve of the season many times before.
  18. Unfortunately Paul it doesn't and that is why these young lads don't understand the consequences of their actions when having a laugh. The trend is to sweep it under the carpet or laugh with them. Imagine the frustration as a sponsor when your team or team members choose not to wear the corporate image or race jackets are removed before photographs are taken? I sponsored a team who won a trophy on a hot day and all but one of the riders had removed their race jacket and 2 had rolled their race suit down to their waist revealing the sleeveless under garments on a rostrum photograph that appeared in SS. My boss was was really impressed and asked me how he could put that on the boardroom wall. Glasgow are to be commended for their investment and commitment to professionalism, when the sport is full of corporate bodies we might then attract major sponsors, blue chip names and wider media coverage, until then it's the egg and spoon race run by the Village Fete Committee.
  19. no point the thread is fukt now, start one on tropical fish
