Survival of The Premiership?
Byker Biker replied to Najjer's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Rick Frost and his team did this at Peterborough, Neil Machin and Nigel Hinchiffe did it throughout Yorkshire, hundreds of free tickets given away and not even double figures utilised. Machin even gave away a free DVD that got them free admission if they showed at at the turnstile. -
Survival of The Premiership?

Which is why Promoters shy away from many of the ideas mooted on this thread. They can't win if they introduce a low cost initiative like free tickets the existing customers harangue them -
Survival of The Premiership?

and if I believe what I was told some current paying supporters joined Unison to gain cheaper admission not withstanding those that joined the National Union of Students to all of a sudden earn concessions which is why Machin binned it. -

He was kept out of prison when he was younger by Chris Morton and David Gordon who gave him a job learning Speedway. The probation service worked with them because they too believed Jason could be turned around and all the time he was under their influence his nose was relatively clean. Another club poached him and without adequate guidance and supervision he went slowly off the rails again. It's possibly no coincidence that others at that club also ran close to the wire resulting in violence and injury to the point where one of them cannot enter the UK.

There is absolutely no obligation whatsoever for a rider to accept a guest booking, some riders who are young in their careers have day jobs too so getting time off for a guest booking can be a challenge. Please don't assume that a rider is available for a guest booking just because that rider is not riding anywhere that day and heaven forbid that Keith is blooding one of his younger assets by giving him track time at this level.

"Do us a favour Keith, can you send a couple of photos of a busted gate and a bit of fence? They must have bent a post so one of that as well then we can can kill all this crap on the internet. It's better than you feigning a heart attack or pulling the distribution board stunt they've been done to death as have the sun off and burst water bowser. Oh by the way when you pulled the distribution board stunt did you know that CEF keep the parts in stock? (Just in case you need to go again with something) - I'd suggest an archeological find next time, nobody's done that yet!"

Thurrock Hammers ??

The current situation is even worse at that site, it is a haven for anti social behaviour strewn with empty gas canisters and other abhorrent paraphernalia of the night. The hotel is tired beyond belief and the football ground soon to be derelict yet it's far enough away from the Nimbys to disregard these elements. The site is perfect for redevelopment and is only the width of the M25 away from retail, industrial and major storage facilities so in terms of air pollution this sites contribution will be a pimple on the ar$e of the problem particularly as the Dartford Crossing is less than a mile away. -

All of the news coming from this venture is fabulous for the sport, the custodians of the sport need to recognise this and propel Workington as an example and maintain a position that encourages investment in the sport. To mire this club with the usual political self serving bollox will deter anyone from investing in this sport forever. BSPL this is your opportunity to nurture and promote investment in the sport, burn it and you have fukt Speedway forever

Tony Mole explored this beyoned all reasonable expectations and whilst the previous owners were receptive in principle the local authority were not prepared to consider a proposal and the grief from local residents once a whisper got out was horrendous. It was negative all the way.
