Hi, Andy here on the other account until my new Warriors account has past the test of amount of worthy posts I can make in a day! George is a former Weymouth and Oxford rider. He is still only 24. He's raced at Cardiff twice in the junior match races between the main GP, he's raced in the Brighton Bonanza twice as well. He was one of a crop of riders to start racing at a similar time to Brendan, Auty, Hopworth etc. When Oxford closed down mid season he decided to quit the sport. However, having now a family and a stable hunger to get back into the sport, he has been working really hard to get good equipment behind him. He already has 2 fully setup ready to go bikes of a very good standard, and has got a van also. His family are behind him all the way, and Speedway Portal are sponsoring him not only with a media channel to help him get more sponsors, but also with equipment and any help he needs going forward. He has taken the No.8 jacket, and is so pumped to get back racing again. He loves the Island's track, and along with the other 2 reserves will be pushing each other to get quicker and quicker. And he's a really decent guy as well. I guess the name comes down to opinion, which we all have, so in a way we are all right! I would say that having had much contact with the new promotion one thing that certainly doesn't fit with anything they are doing in my experience is "Lazy", and if you copied history the sport would not move forward. So their vision, passion, drive and thinking outside the box will, hopefully, work out for them where it hasn't in the past on the Island. Companies get taken over everyday and its pretty common for a change of the company name etc, new promotion, new team, new direction. Whether I like the name or not in my opinion a change of name is a wise move. Andy

Ben, I do believe that the official name is Wightlink Warriors. It was the Wight Warriors until Wightlink came on board. (Pardon the pun) So that being said, Wightlink Warriors? Better? Andy

All interesting stuff, I have tweaked the site now, should load a bit quicker. The site already is pretty big so it will take some time to implement within the portal section itself, however the main site has been modified. Not all of the changes have been implement, just the ones which we feel was important to the speed etc of the site. Other suggestions are still being chewed over. Also with regards to the speed etc. During the initial stages of setting up the Portal, it was decided that we would only provide the best quality links available on the videos, not to provide choices of 240p/360p/480p/720p/1080p etc. So we appreciate that to some that have a slower connection, or are in a bad 3G signal area this could present some buffering problems. But as for the speed of the website or app loading times themselves, we will continue to look into ways of speeding them up without compromising our product etc. Many thanks for your contributions.
