Hi "Grand Central", we appreciate your time in responding, and also with your good wishes for us as we go forward.
We agree with all of your points except for one, which is "you don't consider yourself as a prime target for us".
No one, and we stress again, no one that is involved in this add-on from concept, to gaining sources, from the development to now and going forward has, or ever will take a penny from this add-on. There is nothing to lose by having less people using the add-on, but it can only gain by more users for the sole reason of making it bigger and better through the fans suggestions. Therefore, I would say YOU are our prime target. And we would love in the future for you to let us know when you feel the time is right for you, that you have tested it and what you think of it.
At the moment, there is an issue with apple blocking the use of KODI software to some of their devices. This is an area which we are also keen to keep an eye on, however there is nothing that can be done our end to solve this.
Also, having not been able to use the add-on yet, you may not be aware that every time the add-on is opened a 8 sec video information screen comes up explaining that no money will ever be taken for this add-on and it will always remain free of charge to the user. However, for those users that would like to thank the hard work in developing and maintaining this add-on, there is a link to the "Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund" and explains a little about the charity and suggests any donations wanted to be given go directly to that cause.
So to recap, the KODI software is free and legal to all, the add-on is free and legal to all, the developers and maintainers of the add-on do it free and make no money at all, there is potential for the Charity to receive donations that otherwise may not have made it their way. And that money goes directly to the charity which then gives it to the riders that could well be the ones being watched in the add-on. Help to install, answer questions, take requests etc is always available at @SpeedwayKodi on twitter.
I know for a fact that the Charity has received a donation already that would not have happened otherwise.
Grand Central, you have just become our No 1 target!!!
As a matter of interest to all users and non users, it seems that for any user to view a live stream source without making a copy or download of the said live stream is not illegal in European Countries. However, the provider of the said live stream or links to it etc, without the relevant authorization to do so would be in breach of European Law. I do stress again, LIVE STREAMS ARE NOT available on SpeedwayKodi.
Please see this interesting article regarding the information above:
