SGB Championship 2023 Confirmed Signings
SteveLyric2 replied to Nickinho's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Anders Rowe for Poole 5.08 (5.21 less 2.5%) -
Anders Rowe it is. 5.08
-
Nice to have great sponsors innit?! There was no way an announcement would have been made over the weekend cos all the local/regional sports media were full of AFCB beating Liverpool! Danny usually updates around 7pm unless he's given it to BBC South Today at 6.30pm?
-
Poole don't start their Championship League fixtures til 24th May!
-
Agree with the first part, but why would Poole make a n unenforced change or two in May?
-
Nice to hear Poole Pirates (and Ipswich Witches) getting a mention on BBC Question of Sport tonight. Shame they got the sport wrong but hey ho!
-
Don't shoot the messenger. I'm only quoting what's in the Speedy Star. Anyway you can ask Garry May tomorrow if you're meeting up with others. He'll probably know..............!?
-
It was only Danny's comment in this week's Speedway Star that said it was a possibility..........
-
If its to be a double change - and I doubt it, but what do I know?! - why is Batch the only option with Ablitt or a 2-pointer?? If its Roynon to be dropped then that gives 8.7 or thereabouts to play with, so Ablitt and anyone upto 6.70 ish could fit.
-
A double change is still a potential option according to Danny Ford in today's Speedway Star, as well as a straight replacement for Jack.

...except that Danny didn't arrive at the meeting til after the points reduction was agreed by others!!!! The meeting was held on the day of the Pairs at Oxford and Danny got stuck in traffic and arrived mid-meeting!! Unfortunately the 'my dad is bigger than your dad' argument didn't hold up this time!! -

Surely it's the 'top clubs' that have appointed him?! Who else is in 'the cartel'? -
Nobody mentioning Morley any more then?
-
Depends on who started the conversations I guess??
-
....and its still the GI 'head office'!!
-
Apparently (from the horses mouth!!), Keynan did the Ippo deal, with all that comes with it, first without confirming it to Matt/Danny!!! So it may not be an option if 'bridges have been burned'!!
-
Shame he can't ride it!!! If Keynan Rew is on 5 points then he's worth a punt. I know there were on going discussions with him before he signed for Ippo, which if Poole had known they could have shared all his initial costs with Ippo.
-
So is it to be Drew Kemp, Anders Rowe, D.Thompson, Ben Morley, another from overseas or a double change?
-
All .3 named would each fit
-
The request to Poole's REF Committee has already been made.
-
It would be a little harsh to make a signing announcement immeadiately. As Danny Ford says, there are a few options available so no doubt discussions are already taking place.
-
Crashed practicing at Scunny yesterday. Ribs, neck and lungs all damaged.
-
Best wishes to JT. Poole have 5.21 to utilise for a replacement if required?! Or around 6 to 7 ish (if someone like Hans Batch or Nicol available) if they make 2 changes and replace a reserve with a 2 pointer!!
-
So is Buster not intending to sell the club now?

As long as no Championship club has had to help finance it! There is no way he can or will be at every Premiership meeting - maybe just the televised ones, as part of his remit is to make the TV meetings 'more entertaining' for the viewer!!
