  1. The 'one league' concept would have to be based on the current Championship level+ which would NOT mean a weaker product imo. Further more clubs would be allowed to race on the night that best suits their connurbation and if that means clashing with some foreign leagues/competitions so be it.
  2. The football club have big ambitions for eventually the Football League????? If they ever get close to it, Poole Stadium would not be acceptable and would need a total revamp as a number of things do not meet FL minimum requirements.
  3. Racing on a Saturday will only suit those clubs in a location that doesn't have loads of other leisure attractions, aside from the possibility of being up against Football and many other sports.
  4. Why would it be a 'much weaker product'? However riders without the doubling up option will want to demand a higher rate of pay from their one club, so the cost of admission will very much be relevant? NB. I want to hear from Phil Morris......!
  5. As greyhound racing has apparently 'evolved since covid' maybe that message could be filtered down to Gaming International at Poole so that they could reintroduce it as part of their lease agreement with the Council who own Poole Stadium?
  6. Unfortunately thats what happens in a regional group competition with pressure on to complete before end April, plus being 'drawn' against the same club in the KO Cup
  7. not pessimistic, i' m saying it'll be a win but also competitive.
  8. I actually think this could be a very competitive meeting. Plymouth's top 3 all go well at Poole and if Gilkes and Starke dig in, it could be quite close. 49-41.
  9. Zach Cook will be just fine. Just needs to get used to the tracks, many of which he's not seen before.
  10. If Panthers get 3000+ then it's a win even if they lose the match!
  11. It is on the website. PLUS in the presence of Ulrich and Ryan
  12. I think you'll find its MPT in at 1. Also present on Monday Ryan Sullivan and Ulrich Ostergaard
  13. Lewy you are slipping - thats taken you a full day to respond!! Well done Poole promotion for giving up the home second leg of the KO Cup meeting.
  14. I presented him with a Rider of the Night trophy back in the day but i'm 6ft4" so had to kneel down for the photo!
  15. For those that remember Steve Schofield he reminds many Pirate supporters of him.
  16. Well done to Ben Cook 10+2 - more that the Lions top scorer!!
  17. Thank goodness he's only looking at Premiership then!!
  18. I think its important to recognise that the application is for a change to the Premises Licence ie. when and for how long they can serve alcohol. It is NOT an application to change the terms of the lease to run the stadium. The lease still requires a minimum of 2 Sports and/or Leisure Activities. Any talk of 'decamping to IOW or Eastbourne or wherever' is pure conjecture - or at worst simple $#!t stirring..
  19. Nobody is suggesting opposing the application. Merely thinking about the possible option of an amendment for Wednesdays during the speedway season March - October. For example, what would happen if a 3rd party wanted to hire the facility for the summer holidays? As for the current rental I understand this was part of a 2 year (2022-23) agreement.
  20. This is GI (Stadia uk) we are talking about. I believe the rental for 2024 (and beyond) still needs to be negotiated and agreed.
  21. I believe the current Plan is due to be finalised and come into effect towards end of 2024 BUT will probably depend on results of local elections next month!! If there is a change of local political power then that is only likely to defer the plan for longer! As far as Poole Speedway is concerned I guess it's down to what acceptable stadium rental can be negotiated?! As far as the premises licence application is concerned I suppose a possible worry is if a potential stadium hirer wants to put something on during the week including Wednesdays , March through October?!
