  1. Yet the texter on Speedway Updates reckons at heat 9 'the track is so slick there won't be any passing'!
  2. Hope so, but Scunny will need a different guest!
  3. Surely that will depend on the format of the League(s)?
  4. Poole could ride on any day of the week, now that there are no greyhounds - subject to getting stadium staff in!
  5. Poole signed Greg Hancock at the end of July 2013 to replace Chris Holder, the 2012 World Champion. He rode in 8 meetings before the play off final!
  6. Does Nick still lodge with Rosco or did I read somewhere that he'd moved in with his partner?
  7. Hope an early decision is made, as Ben Cook would rather like to watch the GP!
  8. As BSPL would have had one of their Board Directors on site - Mr Bates - I imagine it would have been him. (He would simply remove his Sheffield Cap/Jacket for the night and replace it with a Panthers one!). Unless of course Rob Godfrey would have stepped in (with Chris Louis otherwise occupied and Danny Ford away on hols)?!
  9. ...and he came and sat with us in the sponsors area afterwards. As he was down to supervise his trainee, on arrival he discovered that transponders were to be tested and was asked for his feedback. Its not unusual to see the SCB's Neil Vatcher at Wimborne Road, as he's local and sometimes comes along with his parents Stan and Val who still administer the Pirates 'Riders Equipment Fund' (REF). I don;t know if Neil was at the track on Wednesday but a quick phone call to him would not be unusual!
  10. Forgot to mention the SCB officials were at the track yesterday to oversee the use of transponders and check the track.
  11. Ridge or hole? - whichever it was was missed by all riders from both this week's teams as it was corrected last week during the meeting. A good strong showing by the visiting Bandits.
  12. Track was different to last week -from a spectators viewpoint - with the expected rain around 4 ish not happening so the track staff watered the track late. It certainly caught the Poole riders out early on with Berwick taking advantage. NB. The Pirates were quoted that the track was in very good nick(?) and has been consistently good in recent weeks. Still only 3 last places for the Pirates - one e/f for Ben and one lost steel shoe for Adam - and only 2x 5-1s, but a much stronger performance by the Bandits. Still a decent crowd last night but imo not the same 'buzz' as the previous week!!
  13. Bomber said the track was fine last week - just the Glasgow riders werent!!
  14. It seems that the 'management' have gone with riders who are riding or have ridden in Poland
  15. The absence of Richard Lawson is a surprise as his Premiership average is only bettered by Bewley. The final 4 in the team will likely include Rowe as the track reserve.
  16. Its probably scribbled down on the back of a fag packet!!
  17. Well done to Brummies for agreeing to the fixture during the Danish 'break'!!
