  1. Me too, and now that Virgin Media are owned by the USA's Liberty Cable, watch the competition with Sky get much fiercer!! Should be better all round for the consumer too!
  2. Its still all going to be about what people have to do/watch etc on a Saturday rather than a Monday or midweek night!!
  3. Thought it was to be on 'Speed TV'? Whatever that is....!?
  4. Thanks Philip. I was just going from something on facebook!!!!!!!
  5. Sounds as though Nigel and Kelvin will at least be covering the NZ GP!! Not sure about the others yet.
  6. Not if you're a Virgin cable customer - all inclusive already!
  7. On Eurosport twitter yesterday it said the only Speedway currently 'confirmed' were the Euro Championship rounds starting in July!!
  8. Thats about to happen ....watch this space for the first 'trial', although it will probably be on another club's thread!! However many on here don't seem to appreciate how vital the revenue from advertising - not just in the programme - is to most if not all clubs!! All most promotions get is revenue from gate receipts, advertising and sponsorship. Things like car parking and catering/bars revenue will often go to the stadium owners or franchisee! So I would hope that all true fans do buy a programme at their favoured club.
  9. Probably still trying to work out how his bikes go much better with Darcy on board rather than himself??!!
  10. One could ask why hold it in March anyway? There must be plenty of spare dates later in the year???? Re Darcy, lets not forget he was also on 'borrowed' bikes!!!
  11. Yes but think about all the advertising revenue that they need for all their loan fees purchases!!
  12. 24,825 copies per day but 110474 per day when the online views are added!!!
  13. Didn't realise Woffy was in charge of the prizes??!!
  14. Agreed 110%!! Another thing, at many (most?) speedway tracks, its not the speedway promoter that gets the beer and refreshment money, its the stadium owner!!
  15. But is this just the 'regurgitated' Swindon view on things from several weeks ago or have the BSPA made a new decision and confirmed/announced it themselves?
  16. Poole have a Twitter feed which also gives race by race updates of home and away Poole meetings. They also encourage fans into the pits up to 30 minutes before start time (I know some other clubs also encourage this), but these are both things for existing fans!!! To attract new fans - no matter what their age - it has to be about entertainment, excitement, controversy(?!) and value for money (ie cheaper than it is at the moment) - but that will mean a major reduction in costs to riders, which in turn would mean lower wages and savings that can be passed on to fans, either by cheaper admission and/or extra attractions !! The thing with 'other attractions' is that it would need to be a range of different things aimed at the variable age groups - one man's marching band is another man's torture!!
  17. Very surprised there were that many forum members in attendance??!!
  18. I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but in addition to the SCB rulebook, isn't there also a seperate 'Code of Conduct' handbook (or whatever) that is supposed to cover how members of the BSPA (ie the Promoters) are expected to deal with each other?! Whilst fans are entitled to expect public confirmations/statements on issues that break the SCB rules, surely anything that happens against the BSPA's 'Code of Conduct' is likely to remain private between the respective promotions and BSPA MC - unless of course individual members choose to 'go public' (officially or unofficially) with their side of the story, to help sway/support their argument. In this long drawn out saga, there is no way that Batch won't be allowed to ride for Swindon, but the BSPA MC should simply announce that they have taken whatever appropriate action they feel is necessary against the offending promotion(s) together with some sort of warning as to their 'future conduct'!!
  19. Yes, but he managed to still text the scores to 'updates'!!
  20. Well done to the Lakeside Promotion for securing a 2-year deal in this current economic recession and with TV coverage in some doubt for next year!! Great news for the club.
