Poole V Birmingham 1st Leg Grand Final

Ah yes, I see what you've done there Baz.....' a new man'!! Those that were at the Somerset v Redcar meeting on Friday, may have a better idea about the Dyer 'illness', but those that think there is some sort of Poole conspiracy involved in him missing his Redcar meeting today are just deluded! -
Photo and small report in the Sun on Sunday. No mention that he rides for Wolves!!

I raised this on the 'Brummies website' thread yesterday morning as I didn't know if it was encountering similar problems to theirs?!. It came back on later in the day then was off again this morning, but OK again at the moment!!

Dyer is missing from the Redcar team at Newcastle this evening due to 'illness', so may not be available at Perry Barr. So I agree with your estimate of 5 Brits on show Baz!! Ooh Gavan, I hope you're not trying to butter me up?! -
Agreed 100%! OK, a fuller fixture list has been rumoured by several promoters already, a simplified rule book? Fine, but what changes would he make to simplify it? Changing riders' mindset?? If he thinks the AGM is the place to change that, then fine, but HOW would he go about it? For me it was all a bit too general and non-committal and lacking in specifics! I think most people involved in speedway (except GP riders) want a fuller fixture list, but that's exactly what Buster voted against last time!! Any changes for the good of the whole sport as a whole that he can influence - all power to his elbow. I was just hoping for some more specifics.....

Exactly!! How contradictory is that? So, as you are not anti-Poole and not anti-Poole riders, but just hate Matt Ford, then why don't you restrict your anti- comments to a 'Matt Ford' thread??! Maybe start one yourself and then you can bitch to your heart's content for as long as the thread stays open!! -
Well done to Tai and it must be great to be a Wolves fan today. Enjoy!

So, back to the thread - how many Brit riders do we think will be on show Monday? 3, 4, 5 or 6?? -
Back on now!! The Columbian website domains have clearly been sorted by GSI , at least for the time being!!!
-
Name me one EL promoter that hasn 't 'bent the rules' this year!!!!!
-
A bit more detail as to what he would try to influence as a new co-promoter!!!!!!
-
Thanks for that. I listened to part 2 and frankly was a little disappointed at Rob Lyon. He kept referring to 'the sport making major changes', without giving any real examples other than trying to track the same 1-7 each week and making sure riders did a lap of honour to 'interact' with fans!! Both quite reasonable objectives but hardly 'major changes'!! Or is there more in part 1?
-
Unfortunately Gavan you seem to contradict yourself with a lot of your posts. If you are only anti-Matt Ford and not anti-Poole, then how come many of your attacks are about Poole riders and their performances on track? Also, to have a 'reasoned' debate requires all sides of the debate to be reasonable and hopefully backed up with some facts and reasoned opinions. For example, I have no problem with your comparisons of Howarth and Dyer - taking their overall EL performances, but when comparing the Ward and Kildermand incidents - most Poole fans will understandably defend Ward and most Swindon fans will understandably defend PK, whereas you (neither a Poole nor Swindon fan) tend to go straight in again with your anti=Poole accusation, despite 'not being anti-Poole riders'!! Maybe you can start to see why some see your posts as being continually biased and unreasonable! Anyway, hope to see you at Wimborne Road next season when Ippo visit!!

Maybe its a bandwidth problem? Or the Columbians are having a bit of a hissyfit with GSI?!

Whats the 8-day rule got to do with anything?? Barker is not at number 1 is he? so no guest allowed, unless someone else in the 1-5 is also missing?! -
Is there a link to this? I'm sure it would be of interest to many fans!
-
I'm not sure if this has any relevance whatsoever with whats been going on behind the scenes with the Brummies website, but is anyone else having problems accessing the BSPA website this morning??
-
I must admit that in a couple of Gavan's more recent posts - although still extremely anti-Poole - his tone does seem to have 'softened' somewhat, even though there has still been the occasional personal insult!! Whether that's as a result of learning from his recent bans or just the fact that Poole have reached the final as a result of some astute signings by the Poole Management (again!), thereby negating some of his previous rants, we shall have to wait and see.

I thought that's what the Sky money was used for - in most cases anyway!! I agree that fans want value for money, but whats wrong with offering a 'season ticket' or 'voucher book' for a set number of league fixtures?! If there is also a small discount/incentive thrown in for early purchase, why is that a problem? If fans at certain clubs have paid out in advance for an unstipulated number of matches, then I agree the system needs looking at!
-
You haven't offended me in any way! My exact post was in reply to Bagpuss' #111 which was comparing the Poole team at the start of the season to later on after (many) changes had been made, so in that context I believe I was correct, as indeed you were with Miskoviak's later meetings v Kings Lynn, but that wasn't what was being discussed at the time!

Alright calm down!! My response to Steve0 was tongue in cheek and part of our usual banter. Of course I know Morris was signed as an asset - I never suggested otherwise - Gordon Pairman confirmed it much earlier on!! Howarth and Grajczonek have been confirmed in the Poole 1-7 TODAY by Matt Ford. Howarth wasn't 'dumped', he was a victim of team changes within the points limit and if you actually speak to him, he admits that his scores immeadiately prior to his release were not very good! (Gomolski springs to mind too!) And if you know anything about the lad then you'll know that whenever he was not away with either Worky or Swindon, he would be in the Poole pits for our meetings, helping out his mate Josh and others!!
