  1. ..and at Leicester. He's been told he must prove his fitness if he is to be considered for Monday, and Ippo have no meetings this week!! I see Barker is also riding!!
  2. Those teams look good on paper! Shame Rohan and Ben aren't on opposing sides!!?
  3. That is such a 'spot-on' post and could/should apply to the majority of riders, teams and Speedway managements in general across the UK!!
  4. But it was the events lies about the earlier call-off that meant an SCB Official had to be present for the September fixture (and all others) and as has been pointed out several times on the meeting thread, it has to be the HOME team's riders that request the abandonment!! Added to that, that BV had no other dates to rearrange the fixture before the cut-off and its in the rules (like it or not) that a meeting can be called after 10 heats! Don't blame Poole for the rules or the mistakes of others, we get enough c**p as it is!!!
  5. The only way anyone will get Greg in the UK is if the fixture list is cut to around 15/16 meetings only! (as stated in the Daily Echo interview yesterday!)
  6. Anyone else spot Eddie Mitchell, local Property developer and ex-chairman of AFC Bournemouth, at the stadium last night??!!
  7. 2 coachloads of Poole fans booked already!! Should be a great night for the Brummies promotion!! Welcome to Poole's world!!
  8. Nothing like a confusing headline!! He 'hopes' to stay racing in England!!
  9. With the 2nd leg sponsored by Ford - I bet everyone's relieved that deal was done before last night!!!!
  10. So its the morning after the huge 1st leg triumph and now had the chance to watch the Sky production. Still elated and a bit surprised at the size of the win, but pleased that Matt and the Poole team are doing their absolute best to influence a new Sky contract - for the benefit of British Speedway!! Just a point not picked up from last night (unless I've missed it on here amongst all the congratulatory posts?), but in the '60-second' interview slot in the meeting programme, this week with Matt Ford, he reports that in addition to the return of Meridian Lifts sponsoring last night (and Kyle Newman), 2 of the clubs biggest recent sponsors - Draper Tools and MMCG are back on board for 2014 having missed this year due to changes in their marketing strategy - those decisions being made before Poole had confirmed their place in the finals! They just couldn't stay away!! Success breeds success! Nice post Steve0! Cheers
  11. I wish it were possible to see all the gritted teeth on the forum this evening!!
  12. Well I'm just back from a booming Wimborne Road, where I watched a powerhouse Poole performance, right out of the top drawer. Great atmosphere and a 21 point lead that even the staunchest of Poole fans daren't have dreamt of!! Certainly not me as I predicted a slender 6 point win. Not sure what happened to the Brummies but they were simply outridden on the night! Well done to the Brummies fans that made the trip - very respectful and so pleased at Brummies overall season. Don't know how it came across on Sky but I still have that extra pleasure to come! Pleasant dreams to all speedway fans!
  13. If I'd known Robins liked choking on potatoes, I'd have planted some more!!!
  14. I wonder if the gate conditions will be the same as last week v Swindon, when quite unusually 2 and 4 were the best throughout the meeting??!
  15. Great interview with Greg on Sky Sports News just now (2.45pm) live from the Poole pits - with 'the best track, the best racing, the best stadium for speedway and the best fans in the UK'!! Not me saying that, just quoting the Sky Sports News 'All Access' reporter!!!!
  16. Where the viewing figures for Monday night(midweek) speedway were still better than when Sky covered the GPs!!!
  17. I don't really want to get involved in this again - but a team can still be considered underdogs and end up winning!! Poole did it against Swindon. Nothing contradictory there!
  18. When I posted similar a couple of weeks ago, many disagreed!!!
  19. I wonder who Poole will have as number 8 now?? At least I can see a meeting tonight that shouldn't need a T/R (not sure about the 2nd leg though!?). I predict 48-42 for Poole
  20. You are half right with your first point - a slip of the finger!! Although I should have said at Poole, I also believe he won't be at Perry Barr either! Your second point is wrong though!!
  21. Tai's win was mentioned in BBC Radio Solent's live footie coverage this afternoon Saints v Swansea!!
  22. Ah yes, I see what you've done there Baz.....' a new man'!! Those that were at the Somerset v Redcar meeting on Friday, may have a better idea about the Dyer 'illness', but those that think there is some sort of Poole conspiracy involved in him missing his Redcar meeting today are just deluded!
  23. Photo and small report in the Sun on Sunday. No mention that he rides for Wolves!!
  24. I raised this on the 'Brummies website' thread yesterday morning as I didn't know if it was encountering similar problems to theirs?!. It came back on later in the day then was off again this morning, but OK again at the moment!!
  25. Dyer is missing from the Redcar team at Newcastle this evening due to 'illness', so may not be available at Perry Barr. So I agree with your estimate of 5 Brits on show Baz!! Ooh Gavan, I hope you're not trying to butter me up?!
