  1. So, Sullivan's links with Torun not strong influential enough then??!!
  2. Double posts as well as double pies! Lovely.
  3. Hans and PK back with the Robins...................on Saturday!!
  4. Ah yes, Cycle Speedway that's the future.....!? Poole are pretty good at that too!
  5. Depending on the number of teams running in 2014, I think there'll be one set of League fixtures plus a KOC - the latter to be run early season, with a final in the summer!!
  6. After Darcy's big fall on Wednesday his wrist has swollen and needed hospital physio treatment yesterday and today!! Watch this space!!
  7. I assume you meant to say unsustainable, because losses of £4k+ per meeting are certainly substantial - particularly as that is WITH the Sky money.
  8. Surely nobody is saying/has said that lapsed attendees should not be chased for their reasons for no longer attending?! However, it is more than just sensible to concentrate and prioritise one's research efforts on those that have recently lapsed ie, in the past 3-4 years lets say, rather than those that haven't attended for 20 years+, assuming of course that those recent punters can be contacted in sufficient numbers?! Combine those responses with a good cross-section of views from current fans in a properly-run survey, and there should be some decent results!!?
  9. Looks like it could all be (more) doom and gloom for Eastbourne in 2014, according to the Speedway Star - which I presume is a more in depth article than Mr Dugard gave to the local paper?!
  10. Anyone would think Britain is the only speedway nation where there is moral and financial corruption mismanagement!!! Seriously deluded!!
  11. 'Brummies boss 'sorry' for song'!! www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport Birmingham Promoter Graham Drury slams the 'absolutely pathetic and unjustified' playing of Money Money Money during Pirates title celebrations.
  12. I have no idea what the speedway tavern is, so you will win your bet!! Incidentally, on another thread forum members are being asked to give one positive and one negative about speedway. A Brummies fan (I presume) has already listed 'lack of atmosphere' as a negative! I know it doesn't answer your question but maybe Poole fans are so used to having a great atmosphere at Wimborne Road, that they do have to be reminded - in every way possible - that other tracks have their own local issues!! Despite what some will have you believe, Poole do have many, many sensible, enthusiastic and regular fans who are able to understand sensible requests, especially on issues that are so sensitive. I presume there weren't any issues at the league meetings, so as stated maybe it was just the euphoria of reaching the play-off final (again). Maybe there is an argument for having the final on a neutral track that has no restrictions?!
  13. I'm sure they were tested/used at Leicester recently but I have no direct feedback other than a couple of 'positive' posts/pics on facebook!
  14. Elite League - Poole Positive - Being able to see the skills of the top riders eg Ward on a regular basis. Negative - Value for money, because Ward and riders like him are not in every race!
  15. As this is such an understandably sensitive issue for Brummies, I wonder if there was any advance communication between the respective promotions in order to bring this more to the attention of Poole's travelling fans. Announcements could have been made during the first leg at Poole, a notice in the programme, even notices/announcements on the coaches bringing the fans. It is after all a very 'almost unique' condition and as its so important to the continued existence of Birmingham could have been treated more seriously by all concerned!! Maybe a permanent notice on the home page of the Brummies website, might also have been useful?! Oh hang on.......!
  16. Simple question - as I wasn't able to make Tuesday's rearranged win - is there any signage around PB about the non-use of air horns, or anything else too noisy presumably? Obviously any signage wouldn't need to be where the home fans congregate as they all presumably know about this, but any signs where the away fans are, or is it just left to chance word of mouth on the night amidst all the cheering and applause for the winning team??????
  17. Simply choosing the best time to showcase what he can still do, in readiness for 2014!!!
  18. A great evening last night. Some good racing from the Swindon boys, NKI(in the early heats), Bjarne and Darcy (despite the big off caused by KK!!). Although late in the season, it would seem we've learnt how to provide a decent race track at last - Torrential rain all morning, followed by sun and a stiff breeze all afternoon - perfect!! Interesting comments at the end by MF on the TV situation - suggesting that IF there is no more Sky, then there could be 2 other options!!?? Also speaking to some of the team and meeting corporate sponsors in attendance last night, the majority clearly want to (pay to) see and support the 'Top' riders, which could give the BSPA one hell of a dilemma come AGM time!!! PS. Have to echo the comments about the meeting programme - 56 full colour pages with photo spreads from Brum on Tuesday night - a superb (and record?!) achievement to turn that around. Well done to the Prog Co-Ordinator and all the production crew!! (and yes I am biased! )
  19. At least he had a plan!!!!!! PS. I have had an answer to my question in PMs from a couple of forum members, and have not mentioned the matter since!!
  20. Well he'll have a great opportunity - looking at the Blue Riband riders this evening!!
  21. Surely at least a small bonus for young Kyle, The Know?! He showed the new GP rider the best way around his own track!!
  22. and the worst No.1 in Brummies colours this season - only truly a 2nd string!
  23. Nice words from Matt Ford - congratulating the other 3 play-off teams. A very dignified interview in amidst all the celebrations in front of the Poole fans!! And only 1-0 to England in the footie with the whole 2nd half to come!!
