Team Gb - Middlo Quits!
SteveLyric2 replied to Barry The Cat's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think there should be a full clear-out now that Middlo has quit. Morris should go to as he was just as much a part of the TEAM GB set-up as Middlo!!! Give it to Rosco and Screeny!!! -
SB said, "But in fairness Brum DID get it right on track, which in a results industry is the most important thing!" Just for a moment I thought I was on the Poole thread!!!!
-
You might be lucky with one of those!!!?

'What about Simon Gustafsson?' That's what Eagles fans were asking most of last season!!!

Not disputing the need for more/better online marketing, but I would be interested to know exactly how that would produce 'higher quality racing'?? Would the rider in 2nd, 3rd or 4th place be tweeting his partner away in the lead to slow down a bit? -

I wish people would take the trouble to read the latest posts from those 'in the know' eg Tsunami, amongst others. Also the statement on www.speedwaygp.com by Jon Cook gives more detail and fills in some of the gaps in the original (rushed!) headline statement issued Sunday. -
'Viewing figures are awful'?? Really? That's probably because there's none on at the moment!!
-
Great news for the Robins and for Rosco in particular. Top guy Peter Toogood!

Maybe HMRC are taking a closer look at the accounts after 5 years of sponsorship/tax losses?!

Will they go with any GP rider?? -
Not forgetting Bjerre is back in the GPs, so may be missing on many Fridays. Could be an issue with more fixtures to fit in?!
-
It will be those NL riders not classed as 'wobblers' and some of the lower-end PL Brits, under a certain average (not sure what average?!). Selections and nominations will be made by the Team GB and U21 management teams into A-grade and B-grade, and the 'allocation' (or draft) to be made in early December. Selected riders will not be required to be attached to a club that is a long way from their base!!
-
Phil Morris and Neil Vatcher will select/nominate the 20 'reserve' riders. Surely they will do this after speaking with the 20 (at least) individuals first!!
-
What price the 2 Poole reserves will be Newman and Holder J.??

Why?? Its never been that interesting previously.....!! -
Josh will be in - not Zorro!!!
-
I did say 'added' problem!! When you're losing money anyway due in part to low crowds, why commit to extra stadium rentals and costs etc?!
-
I think the added problem of fitting in more fixtures, with the established difficulties of regular availability of the EOES, may also have been an issue!
-
References to the 'British League' are appearing in statements now, so maybe that will be announced officially when the new TV deal is confirmed in the next few days/weeks!!? The 'BT British League' has a certain ring to it - do you see what I did there?! The key issues for Matt now are :- 1. Do Darcy and/or Noddy want to do more meetings? 2. If so, does he use one or both? (Personally I think we'll see Darcy!) 3. Will he stick with the previously announced riders ie Josh, Kyle Howarth (and Kyle Newman at reserve - assuming he is 'allocated'?)
-
If you don't produce a decent programme then you are missing out on substantial advertising income!!!!
-
Quite right too - best man for the job!!!

So it seems the 20 NL (or whatever) Brits are to be selected by Phil Morris and Neil Vatcher - the joint U21 Team GB managers - prior to the allocation! Presumably those selected will have been spoken with first and only 'put forward' if they want to progress and agree to whatever the 'terms' are??!! -
Sorry for all most Panthers fans! But seriously with all the EL standard assets that the Panthers own, who is going to pay the true price for the promoting rights to run in the PL??

I'm sure its not just me, but isn't this AGAIN a case of the BSPA rushing out a press release that hasn't been properly thought through, as it raises as many questions as it attempts to give answers?! It happened last year as well when a further full statement 'offering clarification' had to be issued. Already statements appearing on club websites and other social media use different wording to the 'official' statement and consequently lead to other confusing interpretations. Whoever composes/issues these statements needs a good education in 'how to write a press release'!! -
What, no Howarth? Thought he was nailed on for you??!!
