No Chris Holder In 2014 In British League.
SteveLyric2 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The 'Elite' name was something Sky insisted upon!!! With that particular contract at an end, I guess references to the 'British' League are appropriate until the new League Sponsors (Sky/BT Sport?) are announced, when a newly branded League name will also be confirmed!! For example, if it is going to be BT Sport, then some use of the word 'British' would make sense!! It makes sense anyway to me - sponsor or no sponsor!! -
? Pedersen 8.12 Woodward 6.34 Kylmakorpi 7.12 Gustafsson 5.17 Michelsen 5.00 = 31.75 One of the potential problems with that 1-5, plus an extended fixture list, will be the number of Longtrack clashes for Woodward and Kylmakorpi??!

Elite League Draft Riders
SteveLyric2 replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Not sure any club will want a 'dominated' reserve rider??!! Seriously though, with the 20+ Brits being 'nominated' by the Team GB U21 management, then surely they will select those riders who have ambition to progress!? I just hope there are enough !!! Or maybe we'll see a revision to the rule at the December meeting of only ONE allocated young Brit plus a nominated Brit Number 8??!! -
Doesn't the confusion over website hosting and design go back a few years to when all the (EL?) websites had the '.co' domain address introduced, by GoSpeed I thought?! At the same time there was a suggestion/proposal to also 'standardise' each website homepage (in order that the league sponsor - Sky - could have the same exposure on every homepage), and AP Media were proposed as the preferred agency to do that design work. Although there was a strong keenness for this to be introduced by the BSPA, it stopped short of being an instruction. As has been mentioned some 5 or 6 EL clubs have used AP in their design!

Now that the Leicester/KK deal seems dead in the water, how about 1. Ward 9.07 2. Gracjzonek 4.48 3. KK 7.97 4. Howarth 4.28 Sub total 25.80 (leaving 6.20) 5. Pick one of THJ 5.89; Hougaard 6.19; Skornicki 6.14; Zengota 6.15 (or as a real outsider - Darcy's mate Morris 5.90)?
-
He will be - as the senior reserve, unless the rules are tweaked again at the December 'allocation' meeting?!!
-
As has been stated and clarified several times already, the reserves will be selected/allocated from a list of NL and lower order PL riders!! With a degree of preference given to a rider who is either a club asset or lives close to that club!!
-
Don't see how this applies to Worrall in 2014 - he first rode in PL in 2011 (and before that in NL), so he's already had at least 3 seasons!!
-
I've only seen Paul Starke ride twice - and on both occasions he looked as though he was very keen to join the Ryan Fisher 'Lets scare the s*** out of everyone else on track' fan club!!

If you're gonna take the p**s, at least get the name/spelling of the road correct!! -
JG for Poole 4.48. Also as I've posted elsewhere - I thought the 2.5% reduction for young Brits had been deemed illegal!!?
-
I thought the 2.5% discount for Brits had been ruled illegal!! Well done to Scotty though, I'm pleased for him - hope he's not at Number 1!!!! (ps. is it true that BV are going for an all-Brit 1-7??)
-
Interesting rule change(?) referred to in the JG statement - that as a full asset his Poole EL fixtures will take precedence over any PL doubling-up fixture clashes!!
-
Excellent statement from Mr Phillips on the BSPA website, apologising profusely to AP Media for all the issues over the website. Admitted the club had got it wrong and welcoming AP back with open arms!!

British Speedway Promoters Meeting

Why do you assume the 2014 product will be 'shockingly poor and boring'? There is absolutely no evidence to support that! If the revised race format gets it right and we have riders of similar ability in the same heats then the racing should be ok. Also if there's a local Brit lad in at least one of the reserve places, then that gives all local and social media something to bang their drum about as well as the top riders!! -

Those clubs with a podcast (official or unofficial) could co-ordinate that!! One issue though is that the average age of a speedway supporter puts many of them in the group that don't understand what a podcast, app, smartphone etc etc is!!!! ps. phone votes to a premium number at 50p a time??????? Tony Millard would be turning in his grave!!! God rest him!! -

One of the big questions is - will the Post-AGM change it all again, if there is then a substantial TV/Sponsorship deal in place?! With a decision expected 'imminently' (according to the BSPA statement), maybe the next meeting in early December to 'allocate/draft' the NL riders, will also have a different agenda? -
Worrall for Aces 5.78

So is Mr Phillips the goody or the baddie?? I'm confused!!

Team Gb - Middlo Quits!
SteveLyric2 replied to Barry The Cat's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
At least Middlo would know the difference between Dave and Rodney!! Whoever gets the job now will not find it any easier with the same 'also-rans' - many with bigger egos than their ability - or riders that test new engines in a World Cup meeting!!! -

What about this new Parliamentary MPs Group? Isn't one of the supposed advantages of such a group to be able to source new financial grants to assist young riders in sport? Maybe this is an ideal opportunity for the Parliamentary Group to prove its worth!!!
