Don't bite mate!!!!! The thing that surprises me is how Worky have raised the cash to buy Howarth, after giving Josh G a hefty signing on fee and buying an airfence?!
-
From Poole Website this afternoon::- "Poole chief Matt Ford has admitted his 'disappointment' that Kyle Howarth slapped in a 'want-away' transfer request which has now seen him become a full asset of Premier League club Workington, albeit with a buy-back option clause included. Howarth, who became a victim of a number of team changes at Poole last season but had never been discarded from Poole’s future plans, rode throughout the campaign for the Comets and returns for the Cumbrian side for a second season, now as a full asset, and has since been confirmed as a member of the Coventry Elite league team. Ford reveals, "There is strong evidence of some contractual talks having occurred which is in contravention of the rules and regulations within the sport and that has been brought to the attention of the governing authorities. I will leave it everyone to draw their own conclusions from what has happened but I find it somewhat incredulous that, when he is currently dating a Poole-based girl the reasons cited for his transfer request is "that he found Poole too far to travel to," "The geographical position of Poole is nothing I have any influence over and when he have such tight points limits to work within I can only afford to have riders in my team who are fully committed to riding for the club. I am fully committed to putting a side together which I believe is capable of successfully defending the league title and will now move forward from this episode with that goal in mind." I wonder if we'll hear officially about how much Coventry are likely to be fined!! (ps. I also wonder if Middlo's daughter knows?!)

British Speedway Promoters Meeting

Just to add a small bit of balance to the volunteers vs paid workers in speedway. Not all clubs rely solely on volunteers - I know at least one EL club that at least pays its Programme Co-Ordinator - and possibly others!! Whether its enough of course is another question entirely!!? Also, on the question of 'standardised' websites or homepages - the reason some promoters want a degree of individuality in the design is because they want sufficient space to give prominent exposure to all their sponsors and commercial partners!! As we know, some clubs are much better at attracting sponsors/partners than others, which does favour the idea of individually designed sites, but with some consistency of style and corporate branding as appropriate. I thought that what AP Media was selected to do - create and design - not host!! -

Is that in Freddie's World? Wayne's World? or Wally World? Flattered to deceive too often for me. Great servant of the EL though!! -
You've got Howarth anyway!!! If the rumours (and the tapping-up fine!?) are true?!!
-
Well there you go!!?? What did I know? Bit of a shock for MF too......!! Although it seems theres stuff gone on behind the scenes, so as often said if a rider is tempted to ride elsewhere then maybe better to sell. I bet that's going to cost somebody!!
-
One person and one person only on the Worky site has said this!!!! Nothing on the Worky website or anywhere else!! Could be true but would like it confirmed from an official source.

Clearly so much EL experience he's managed a 3.00 average!
-
Still looks very 'AP Media' in its design!!

Don't forget the readers of the 'online' version of local newspapers - not so aged as the readers of the actual printed copy!! -

I really don't understand why people don't check the official statements first, before making their comments/assumptions!!!?? -
Robert Lambert is NOT in the official list of 23!!!!!

The BSPA website has the official (and shorter) list with the order of 'seniority/experience'!!

I am aware of that and at the time there was much debate on 'losing' the word British!!! Sky insisted the 'Elite' word stayed!! -
JACAMO to provide size 5XL racesuits!!

Comparisons with football are irrelevant. They've got so much money sloshing around at Premiership (or is it Premier League?)level they only need to pay lip service to a league or cup sponsor!! -

A few clubs (not all) have announced their season ticket prices, with varying 'deals' - some good, some not so - on the usual admission price!! The Wolves offer does seem very good though!
