He will ride again in the UK in 2014 - just not in the EL - unless Darcy gets injured!! -

It goes with the territory for most posters on here!! -
Wasn't he due to be on BikerFm last night??!!
-
So a 5-year TV-only deal with Sky again - and the chance to attract a new 'Main' sponsor for the League(s)!! That should at least assist clubs and riders in attracting their own corporate sponsors!
-
Merely quoting from an article in today's local press!! Kyle Newman is not an issue as he is a Poole asset and has always wanted to ride permanently for his local club. Having also signed for Plymouth I would imagine there won't be many fixture clashes, if any at all! Having one of the last '2nd picks' in the draft, MF admits he knows little about Smart and will now be checking his other commitments. I'm sure the same will also apply to some other clubs, because of the different EL race nights!? Its not a criticism of the system or any individual club - but its not rocket science either!!
-
It'll be interesting now to hear the rider's version as well as the management's version of why he's not going to ride for the Robins?!
-
Swindon don't want him - according to Jason's facebook/twitter!!
-
I think KL may well be in pole position for Doyley - if they want him?! Doyley needs to be a bit careful who he upsets with some of his comments, otherwise he may run out of potential employers!! He says he won't go back to Poole or Birmingham and Swindon don't want to use him. Coventry are complete................so who?
-
It would seem its not all cut and dried for Smart - or with some other selected reserves?! Discussions now have to take place to check rider availability against (presumably) a draft fixture list!!? Changes could still be made........!
-
Fine for me on IE.

I do love your optimism that the same rules will apply for 2015!! ps. Who was it that said the Asset system doesn't work?! -
I'm sure every 'top flight' promoter/team manager is pleased with their preferred 2!!

Actually that was an 'under-airfence'!! -

Just as a 'side issue', anyone else notice the 'clever' wording in the BSPA announcement of the reserve pairings today??? The words 'top flight' league were used 3 times rather than the word 'Elite'!! (Yes I know its not 'Elite' anyway). Is this in advance of the new League Sponsor/TV announcement?!! -
Only available exclusively from UK's sole stockist - GSI Electricals!!!

Jon Cook's apparently - as he announced Ellis last night!!! -
Absolutely not!! I was just expecting a lot more criticism about the accusation of Coventry breaking the rules!! I feel 'fine' now though!!
-
He hasn't had a hair salon for at least 8 years - maybe longer!! I do have to smile at the hypocrisy of the usual anti-Poole brigade though. MF gets castigated whenever there is an accusation of 'rule-bending', but when another promoter (Coventry in this instance) does exactly the same thing, its fine and everything's 'above board!!
-
...........and still this 2014 topic continues in the Elite League section??!! Surely whoever takes over at the EOES it will be at PL or NL level, so come on Mods, please put it somewhere more appropriate!!
-
That just about sums up speedway as a whole!!!!!!
-
Not sure where you've heard that from, but don't say I didn't warn you!!
-
I find it very difficult to accept that Kyle didn't know he was in Poole's team plans, considering the number of times he was at MF's and/or Middlo's home!! It sounds as though the 15th December deadline agreed by all promoters at the AGM, is the real issue, about the 'illegal' approach/negotiation!? But then again, as one or two Edinburgh fans have commented, Kyle does have a history of using the 'too much travelling' excuse. When he left the Monarchs to join....wait for it.... Workington!!

I think its the speed of the riders rather than the speed of the track!! -
Don't bite mate!!!!! The thing that surprises me is how Worky have raised the cash to buy Howarth, after giving Josh G a hefty signing on fee and buying an airfence?!
-
From Poole Website this afternoon::- "Poole chief Matt Ford has admitted his 'disappointment' that Kyle Howarth slapped in a 'want-away' transfer request which has now seen him become a full asset of Premier League club Workington, albeit with a buy-back option clause included. Howarth, who became a victim of a number of team changes at Poole last season but had never been discarded from Poole’s future plans, rode throughout the campaign for the Comets and returns for the Cumbrian side for a second season, now as a full asset, and has since been confirmed as a member of the Coventry Elite league team. Ford reveals, "There is strong evidence of some contractual talks having occurred which is in contravention of the rules and regulations within the sport and that has been brought to the attention of the governing authorities. I will leave it everyone to draw their own conclusions from what has happened but I find it somewhat incredulous that, when he is currently dating a Poole-based girl the reasons cited for his transfer request is "that he found Poole too far to travel to," "The geographical position of Poole is nothing I have any influence over and when he have such tight points limits to work within I can only afford to have riders in my team who are fully committed to riding for the club. I am fully committed to putting a side together which I believe is capable of successfully defending the league title and will now move forward from this episode with that goal in mind." I wonder if we'll hear officially about how much Coventry are likely to be fined!! (ps. I also wonder if Middlo's daughter knows?!)
