Quite true SCB, but Gavan does have a point, it will be the first opportunity for Sky to do a live interview with the new Team GB boss. That's why it will be an interesting decision as I understand there may be a plan for Rosco to do a bit more than just attend Havvy's meeting!!
-
Similar reasons to Havvy at Poole!!!
-
Most of the top riders eg Ward, Iversen, Batchelor, Zagar have voiced their preference to have more races against other top riders. They want to 'pit their wits' and match their skills' against riders of similar quality. They want to enjoy their racing - not be leading races by half a lap or whatever!! I don't particularly want to use Poole again as a good example - but they already have every one of the 15 heats sponsored; all the main sponsors still in place, plus a few more; and are well on the way to having every meeting sponsored - and just for the record I don't think the Promoters were at all fussed which of the 3 format options were finally selected!
-
That's why I thought Bridger's was more deserving after his heroic efforts to avoid Harris (but failing miserably) in 2010!!! I guess you'll be amongst the first in the queue to donate then Steve0!!?
-
Maybe its a mix of product, value for money and facilities!! Gone are the days of expecting fans to pay whatever and not get the chance to sit, or at the very least stand under cover, if they wish. And that is often out of the hands of the speedway promotion - whichever club it is!!
-
No issue with Lewis offering something in return!! As I stated previously, what is Bomber offering? Free admission to a GP of choice?
-
We'll have to see how far he honours his prior commitments then!!!!
-
Aah was it? It wasn't clear from the early posts!! I'm never awake for the first showing of Q of S, whenever that is. Reading most of the rubbish on here really tires me out most nights!!

I wonder where Rosco will be on 21st March?? He'll have an interesting decision to make!!

Five More Years Of El Speedway On Sky

With Chris Louis continuing in the pits with his 'big Sky screen', lets hope his Ipswich Team manager role doesn't throw up too many clashes with Sky meetings?! Oh hang on, maybe......................that might not be such a bad thing!! (This is especially for the Chris Louis Sky fan club!!) -
I don't think anyone is complaining about those posters who have suggested possible formats - its just those that keep on and on about the lack of an official announcement?! When is the first team meeting to use the new format?! Riders aren't that fussed - in fact many don't know what heats they are going out in (let alone who they are against) until the team manager tells them on the racenight!! So maybe confirm it a week before so that those involved in producing the new racecards/programmes can do their jobs. Sorted!
-
BSPA's Jon Cook now trying to deflect the blame onto Terry Russell for agreeing to the date switch with Sky!! www.bournemouthecho.co.uk Its almost as if Go-Speed weren't acting on behalf of the BSPA?! Oh wait a minute..............!!!? Oh and Terry Russell 'unavailable for comment'!! And Matt Ford out of the country on hols!!! Sneaky, very sneaky.

Tonights Question of Sport (BBC1 -1930) had 'what sport is Tai Woffinden the Current World Champion?' and nobody on Matt Dawson's team got it!!
-
If that's true about the Elite Shield, then that's a complete turnaround from what I was told!

Speedway Champions League ?
SteveLyric2 replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in International World of Speedway
If it does go ahead I hope it doesn't clash with a Sky meeting otherwise we'll really be up s***creek!! -
Yes there are a lot of problems with that!!! Flights and hotels are already booked - and some already paid for - Sponsorship is in place, based upon certain riders - and special guests - having signed up!! Still at least from the new BSPA statement there seems a willingness to sort something out!! I wonder what the new date of the ERC will be????
-
From the new BSPA statement it would seem someone has started to panic!!! If the BSPA start to play tough and threaten rider bans, I don't think that will go down too well with Sky who will then be missing several, yes several, of the top riders from the first weeks of its EL coverage. People don't seem to have grasped that the newly-named and newly-formatted ERC is now intended to be an 'open' meeting - not just involving current EL riders!!! So it is entirely likely that invitations will have gone out to many of the same riders that have already agreed to ride for Havvy.

In the rest of the Harkness article in the SS, he states that one of the issues with a tier 5 visa request is that they will not be considered if a tier 2 visa has been previously refused as part of the process. Meetings with the UKBA are being attempted to see if any of this can be overturned - specifically for speedway riders.
