  1. Goodness knows what the teams are going to be on Good Friday??? Have you seen all the other fixtures scheduled for that day?!
  2. It was only for one non-EL meeting(!) - and the MC gave permission. There is a bigger picture to all this which hopefully won't impact on any EL clubs or fixtures!!!!
  3. Discharged himself, on crutches and on the plane to NZ!!!???
  4. The rules have been published on the scbgb website. I'm fairly sure the initial 23 riders on the draft list were all named in order (can't find it at the moment), but an additional 7 or so riders to be added to the list -making 30 ish in all - have not to my knowledge been named yet. Presumably, the added 7 will be ranked lower (rightly or wrongly) than the original 23?! Wizzer should be able to clarify, if he still checks out the forum - as its his list?!
  5. Thems the rules!!! And this is part of the issue that BSPA have with One Sport (or any other non-FIM event) for announcing fixtures after the official deadline for International fixtures!! As for May 10th its just a shame the Finns didn't enter a pair!!!!
  6. Have you seen the track 'these days' Gav??? No of course you haven't!! You'll get the chance soon on Sky on April 14th though so if you watch carefully you'll be able to see the improvements!!
  7. I really missed the Finns, the Czechs and the French pairs!!!
  8. I thought tonight's meeting was considerably better than last year's one round attempt Having commentators who actually knew the rules of the competition would also help. Showing a graphic of the running team totals more often on screen would also assist the viewer. With the Aussie boys perfecting the team riding aspect of the Pairs event in the final, I guess the biggest question facing Aussie fans now is will Poole's away EL meeting at Eastbourne on May 10th be rearranged or will Poole be missing Darcy and Eastbourne missing Woodward???
  9. For a co-commentator to make Ermolenko sound intelligent - its got to be a Eurosport masterstroke!!!!!
  10. It might depend on how much 'celebrating' Cameron Woodward does in Torun tonight??!!
  11. Think I'll try sticking to the Speedway Best Pairs on Eurosport this evening for the first hour or so - should be a better meeting, for those that believe its only the top riders that provide great speedway!!!
  12. I assume season ticket holders/sponsors can be texted/messaged with any news? LakesideLive do a great job on facebook/twitter!!
  13. It was originally scheduled for an 8pm start on Sky - hope they manage to revert to 7.30pm now??!
  14. Nasty crash!! Just as well there didn't appear to be a huge crowd there to witness it!!!!?
  15. Yes. www.scbgb.co.uk If a valid facility then 1-5 can have a guest or R/R!!!
  16. I wonder how much pressure Sky have put on to get the Monday 14th April fixture switched to Poole??!!!!!!!
  17. Announced that this fixture originally scheduled for Brandon will now take place at Wimborne Road and still LIVE on Sky Sports!! I'll leave others to make comments and comparisons as to where the better track is??!!!
  18. Seems as though a request is now going to the BSPA for them to approve the Good Friday home and away meetings as both League and Shield fixtures, ie the scores count for both competitions!?
  19. Difficult to (gu)estimate but with big gaps in the main stand, loads of room in the glass stand and only a thin line of fans on the bends maybe no more than 1000/1200 - very poor for Poole. For those doubting the Lakeside report: - as it appears on the BSPA website!!!!!! - "It was cold in Dorset on Wednesday evening but the 2014 Vortex Hammers produced a heart warming performance in their opening match of the season against last year's champions Poole. It may have only been a challenge match but in front of a big crowd both sides rode hard from the outset and prior to racing getting underway not many in that crowd would have predicted that the scores would be level at 36-36 with just three heats to go. And whilst a Pirates 5-1 in heat 13 proved to be their undoing, the Vortex Hammers were still in with a chance of snatching what would have been a deserved draw going into the final race but the home side grabbed a 4-2 with Darcy Ward heading home Mikkel Bech to give the win to the Pirates by 48 – 42. The latter was the star of the show for the Vortex Hammers and showed just why they were delighted to have signed him in the winter and the other major plusses were the 7+2 return from four rides from Adam Ellis at reserve and the 7+1 scored by Richard Lawson at No.2 Singling those three out shouldn't detract though from the efforts of the other four on the night with both Davey Watt and Peter Karlsson being hit by engine failures in the second half of the meeting, which cost the Hammers points and will cost them to effect repairs. In addition Ben Morley did all that could have been expected of him The one tough fact to come to terms with is that Lewis Bridger's four point tally really didn't do any justice whatsoever to his wholehearted efforts in all of his rides and amply demonstrated that, under the new heat formula, the No.5 position away from home is going to prove tough for any rider." Maybe you should check the Lakeside report on the BSPA website, as repeated above in my reply to Bryn!! You can apologise later!!!
  20. Should have put the BSPA in charge of this meeting and called it off after opening the gates!!! No pleasing some people!
