Swindon & Poole Home And Away On April 18
SteveLyric2 replied to Grachan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Just back from this mornings meeting at what became the proverbial dustbowl towards the end!! Daytime meetings at any track are a nightmare for the track team especially when its hot bright sunshine with an accompanying breeze. Having said all that I thought it was a decent enough meeting with some good racing and overtaking. PK not paid for his efforts but you expect more from a track specialist and Number 1!! As much as I like Morris, he is not yet a heat leader - more a strong second string, but he will do better this evening! Pretty solid for Poole even with the withdrawal of Shamek Pawlicki after the crash in his second ride!! If he doesn't race this evening then its either r/r or a guest from BV or Wolves?! I know. to keep it simple for those filling in their programmes this evening, Piotr Pawlicki is on the road south!!! -
Go away! Yes, it seems its his knee rather than his thumb that's giving more concern. He damaged the knee in Oz in the Troy Bayliss meeting and has been wearing a knee brace, which he snapped in the NZ crash!!

Well I hope Nielsen is fit as he is due to ride for BV at 12 noon then motor down to Blunsdon for the 8pm start. -
In the GP he was riding his GP equipment. All his top bikes are based in Europe which is only where he was intending to race! At Poole on Monday he was riding a mish-mash of a bike with bits borrowed from Darcy and others!!

I thought Mr Phillips junior is now co-promoter!!

More to the point, will Nielsen be fit for the away leg?? If not, who else? -
Not gonna happen! Holder is only able to do a few fixtures until his European fixtures properly kick-in in Poland, Sweden and Denmark!! Mind you, at the business end of the season who knows - if either Janowski or Pawlicki are seriously underperforming - but if they are then Poole probably won't be in the play-offs anyway???
-
He/she/it is nothing to do with Poole anymore than you are!!!!! Putting on ignore and reporting to mods is always a good start
-
That's no way to talk about Mrs Drury!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you just repeating my posts now??!! #2667

...and Matt Ford has said there is 'a good chance' that the EL Eastbourne v Poole meeting on 10th May will be changed!! Probably to Monday 30th June if the Sky Sports Speedway list is accurate!! -
Not sure if everyone is aware of this regulation re the draft list?:- A new FT grade list will be amended according to current form and issued with BSPA Green sheets. The updated FT Grade list will take effect 1st of month until the last day of the month. Riders can be added or removed at each of the months FT grade list
-
Except for Kerr or Garrity from the current list!! I am aware of the Bates situation - the BSPA currently have him 'available from 31st May 2014' according to their statement of a few weeks ago! Unless of course there is an appeal to the MC 'in the best interest of Speedway' if a permanent replacement is required for Kyle - Lets hope not, that wouldn't be 'smart' would it!!?
-
If Kyle does need to be replaced, then anyone from the draft list below Kyle's ranking position can be used as a guest!! All riders on the draft list are given EL averages at the end of each month - which will obviously alter the ranking positions! That may give some other options for a month if required. Incidentally, the new British U-21 Champion doesn't appear on the current list!!!

Nothing broken as far as the first X-Rays are concerned but left leg is VERY swollen. More X-rays today/tomorrow. If its ligament damage that can often be as bad as a break in terms of recovery time. Its a shame the current list of 36 FTDR doesn't include the new British U-21 Champ!!!! Get well soon Kyle. -
That would be first and last pick then wouldn't it??!! But back to the format, its been pretty good for me so far. There's still the odd processional race - not always involving the reserves - but there was in previous formats too!!! For what its worth both Havvy and Middlo said in interview last night that it needed 'tweaking a little' for next year to try and get over the number 4 rider issues!!

As he proved last night, no doubt!!!!??? On another topic, for those not at the stadium last night - could anyone still hear stand-in presenter Clive Fisher??!! Goodness me, he was LOUD last night - a combination of a tweaked PA system and Clive's natural enthusiasm no doubt!!! I don't think I'll bother going to Blunsdon on Friday - I'll just listen to Clive from home - in Bournemouth!!!!! (Welcome back on Friday, Nigel!!!!!) -

Conveniently forgetting Poole's partnership with Scunthorpe!!!!!! But I guess if you want to have yet another unjustified pop at Poole, then you will!!!! Getting back to the thread, I think these meetings could well be much closer than many seem to think. Poole certainly haven't clicked 100% yet and Friday night will be Poole's first away meeting so we'll see how Magic, Shamek and Vaclav get on - not forgetting Smart of course!! -

Noddy came through ok for Torun today 7+1, even though the strongest team on paper lost 46-44!!!! I can't see Andersen riding tomorrow - zilch in Poland with his injury, Bees would be much better with a guest!!
