  1. You do have to feel some sympathy for Redcar - forced to track an even weaker side v Oxford. Lets hope for a Grand Final between the 2 Southern Wednesday tracks for maximum attendance for both clubs!
  2. Surely the Monday and Thursday Premiership fixtures are only 'prioritised'?! There is no rule stopping a Championship meeting taking place as long as there is no clash and no guest rider anomalies!
  3. Fixture planning should be much less of a challenge in 2024 whatever the League and Cup formats 'cos theres only the Olympics and Euro Footie fixtures to avoid!!!!!!
  4. So if both Edinburgh fixtures (home and away) are rained off will there be a virtual super heat to decide on the aggregate point(s)? Just asking.........
  5. What I don't quite understand re the Swindon situation is that the Promoters Licence is currently 'on ice'! Recent photography confirms the track at Blunsdon is still there, new grandstands are erected and the extra noise protection fencing appears in place. If Matt Ford is that keen on getting involved at Coventry, why wouldn't he be interested in going in at Swindon(as was the plan at some point in the past) - aside from the size of the rental and the fact he'd have the same landlord (Gaming International) as at Poole, it would be much closer and could attract some Poole fans, whether or not Poole Stadium has a longer lifetime?
  6. Maybe its proximity to Newport might explain Phil Morris' background knowledge of it?
  7. I think the chap(Mr Carter?) who is a Stox enthusiast and has a family of Stox drivers, was very positive about buying the stadium and renovating it in phases. His statement that he made 2 previous offers to purchase the stadium but didn't get any reply, was well made and surprisingly not challenged by BE!!. He owns a multi-million packaging company (I can't recall the actual figures, but certainly £58m+ was mentioned), He would manage and run the stadium and would gladly work with Matt Ford on the promotion of Speedway - also unchallenged! It'll be very interesting to hear Matts comments/evidence on Wednesday.
  8. Anders reports that after a full CT scan, he is 'only' suffering from concussion with no other injuries!!
  9. As Toady reported above, the Cradley news is as a result of an article in the Speedy Star this week, naming a new 4-man consortium looking at/for alternative sites.
  10. I didn't catch all of today's proceedings - I watched from around 10.45am, but got a real feeling that the SCS guys scored very well picking gaping holes in Mr Eadies report (which incidentally he only edited as the legwork was done by someone else in the office!). The inquiry is due to go on til at least Thursday, with 'summing up' scheduled for Friday, which may go into the following week. Matt Ford is due to fly in to speak on Wednesday(27th) and Clark Osborne at 0930 on Thursday (28th). The final input today was the Council's Labour Cllr who 100% confirmed their cross-party intention to save Coventry Speedway and Stadium. Good to hear.
  11. He is a Sports and Leisure consultancy that uses Sport England And various football playing field directives, which are all based on participation numbers rather than spectating numbers. His report should be torn to shreds its so full of holes and inaccuracies.
  12. That's Sport England for you. They are all about participation not spectator numbers.
  13. No problem - there will be a chateau built in place of the grandstand!
  14. Does Coventry have a Chateau nearby? Will he be in partnership with anybody? Coventry Robins anyone? ....and why would Mr Osborne request to speak after MF next Weds, rather than before him?
  15. Why would Phil Morris mention it at a Public enquiry then, as its now a matter of record?
  16. Too much prevarication by the appellants. Back next week.
  17. Maybe it's one of those other tracks owned by the Oxford greyhound guy?
  18. But it's,a public enquiry/appeal so everything said in the Council Chamber will become a matter of record.
