You've just solved the mystery of why Smart wasn't included yesterday - the senior riders knew they wouldn't be able to advise him on set-ups and riding style etc!!!! ps. Smart is in the programme for Wednesday's meeting v Brummies!!

That 24-hour manflu is a real b*****d! Still a smart move by Poole which clearly got the OK from the SCB official and the BV management. Shame Ollie is one place above Smart on the newly revised FT draft list - or maybe they're on exactly the same average?!!!

I love watching Bomber when he's on form in the EL, but he's had a succession of knowledgeable people 'helping' in his GP pitcrew - Norrie Allan, Rosco, Phil Morris and probably others - but something is clearly not working!! Don't know what the answer is?!

Think it was me that made that comment - not Starman. Not meant in bad taste, but you know with the state of many british roads anything could happen!!? It was not any Poole fan that suggested Smart wasn't riding at BV!!

The first revised list of FT riders will be effective from 1st May to 31st May, with averages presumably gained from only their EL performances. Those that have not yet ridden will presumably stay at an assessed 3 points.

BV site actually says Newman, Guest TBC - not Newman and Guest TBC. Smart will be riding - unless he's somehow injured on the way to Manchester.

Its not Poole fans that are saying Darcy should return early!!! Most of us are fully aware that the facility is for 'a minimum of 28 days' which allows Darcy to return to British speedway for May 14th if fully fit - which judging by his post-GP comments is looking increasingly unlikely!!! Edited for update:- And now confirmed Darcy likely to be out for more than the original 28 days, having damaged his knee further in the Bydgoszcz GP.

..plus Bydgoszcz are now 2nd tier in Polish speedway terms!!

I think there was quite a bit of thought that went into the Draft format. Unfortunately the PL promoters refused to play ball and left it solely to the EL. With more PL clubs (votes) than EL, they will always usually win the day on any big decision in the best interests of the sport!!!

Loved the GP last night! Although I think there was probably more atmosphere in the front room with 5 adults and 2 kids screaming at the TV than there appeared to be at the track!!!? Whether politics or a reduction in speedway interest from the Bydgoszcz public is to blame, the crowd was very disappointing for everyone!!

Shouldn't have, couldn't have, mightn't have?? The fact was that Bates was lower on the original list!! Eg Tai should be riding like a World Champion!! Fact is, he isn't at the moment. That just the way it is...........!

If a second string rider in his first EL season does achieve a rolling average of 7.20 after 4H/4A, why on earth would you be looking to replace him with riders of a much lower EL average???

Well to keep things relevant to this thread, whatever happens longer term - it won't be Bates for Smart on Monday, as he's not available or on the FT list til 1st May according to article in SS.

I think the BV website, at the end of the Wolves/BV match report, shows 'Guest TBC for Newman'!! Smart's name has just been accidentally missed off the list!!

So, is Smart riding or not?? As others have inferred on another thread! Still not seen anything official.......?
