In the past I have stopped short (just) of referring to Fisher as 'dirty'!! However I have always held the belief that he can often be dangerous to himself and particularly to other riders as he rarely seems in complete control of his bike. Its almost as if the bike is far too powerful for him to handle. Not sure if its a fitness/strength thing or just that that he should maybe resort to 250cc racing somewhere (else)!! Anyway back to the thread, good to see Ben Hopwood top-scoring well in the NL yesterday, plus of course our non-gating, injury-prone skipper doing so well in Prague!! Looking forward to Wednesday - as indeed I do most weeks.

I bet there will be some better racing at Arlington than the processional stuff we are likely to witness in Prague!! You don't need top riders to make for great racing! and Uncle Bob reckons he loses more money on any 'off-racing' night!!! -
Didn't know you were on such intimate terms and close contact with his lady!!!?
-
Crowds are down because of the draft system - and no substantial reduction in EL admission prices (as proposed by Wolves and Poole I understand?!), because again the PL refused to follow suit and consider any price reductions for their product, as it 'would ruin their businesses'!

Aren't they retired WWE wrestlers??!

A decent PL second string makes for a more than reasonable EL reserve, fast-tracked or otherwise!

Poole V Kings Lynn 28/05/2014
SteveLyric2 replied to Gavan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Congrats to Kings Lynn on a deserved win. As one of the sponsor's group last night (and therefore having a later night and morning than usual! ) I have to say that except for the result, many of the guests thoroughly enjoyed the meeting. There was some decent racing on an inconsistent track surface!! One of Poole's issues with the track - any bumps and ruts aside - is that it has been different every week!! The shale being used is quite 'thin' in comparison to some other tracks and consequently acts differently - in particular going to the outside line very early on in a meeting - hence some riders chasing that dirt line too early in a race rather than waiting, but that's racers for you!! We have a blank fortnight after Wolves next Wednesday so hopefully something can be done. The other thing is with the rider pairings. Middlo changed the 2nd strings around last night as he has done for one of the away meetings, but I think he also needs to look at the top 3 and consider a changearound. But that's taking nothing away from KL - they are deservedly and understandably top of the EL ------------- but as Brummies know, that can mean nothing come trophy winning time! -

Intermittent very light drizzle but not much at all really. Afternoon is expected to be dry and the possibility of light rain/drizzle returning around 9pm ish!! The meeting is definitely on unless there is a major change in the rainfall. -

That's where you're losing money Nick - you're betting on the wrong team!!!!! Admittedly Bet365 are stating Birmingham v Leicester though!!!!!! Met Office weather forecast now shows an improvement (dry) for the afternoon and 'light rain' for 7pm this evening!! -
Just as well it was off as Magic fell ill in the pits and wouldn't have ridden!!

I can guarantee you one thing - Mallett will not outscore Hopwood in this one!!! -
Cook is a big fish in the PL which appeals to his ego, but in the EL - even a diluted EL - he is nothing more than average!

Magic is replaced by Bridger due to illness. He became ill in the pits at Leicester and has a sicknote for 72 hours! Bjerre is declared to ride. Ben Morley replaces Rose for the Stars. This will be a tight one and not sure I'm looking forward to viewing it from the Hospitality Suite for a change, rather than my usual position in the Grandstand?! Most of the usually reliable weather forecasts are saying light intermittent showers at times during the day, but local radio saying any rain to clear for the afternoon/evening!!! -
Very strange. Most young girls usually get a bit wet when they HAVE seen Darcy Ward!! - apparently!!

All the Aussies on duty on Friday are Poole assets - Team manager, Riders and reserve!! Have to rub it in a bit when we have the chance!! -
Very true - I haven't got used to Ben in the team yet!! Also true - but there is always a big doubt that he'll actually reach the 3/4th bends!!
-
Poole should be at full strength, although with only Josh and Kyle with any experience of the track maybe they should go with some PL guests?! Anyone viewing from the 1st/2nd bend, watch out for Milik!!!

Well at least it should be a full-bloodied fixture on 5th September with hopefully 2 full sides fighting for the final play-off place!!! -

Most of the commentators for minor sports are self employed. At least with Nigel and Kelvin, whilst we might not always agree with their opinion at least they get the facts and the names right the majority of the time!! Even the riders and their gate positions were stated wrongly last night - despite them being on the screen caption!!! -

As much as I would always want to see Darcy Ward racing, his return to the full Poole side last Wednesday didn't appear to produce a bigger attendance for the Bees meeting so I hope Jon Cook's intentions are not misguided!! But if it is to be called off, then it would entirely be up to the home promotion and Poole wouldn't want to unduly influence any other promotion's business decisions!!! In fact they would be completely supportive if it was likely to damage the home club's attendance and financial stability!!
