All good and valid criticisms pandorum, but what are the solutions? Going back to basics and starting again? Standardising machinery? Banning tuners? Still trying to retain a standard that TV want to broadcast?

Spoke with the BSPA's Jon Cook this evening and - as announced - he is hopeful of a positive announcement being made next week as to the immediate future of the Brummies. In the meantime the BSPA are covering the rider wages for tonight and next Monday's meetings.

With Swindon's top 2 back from their GP qualifiers, I forsee an away win with another 'last 5 heat collepse' by the home side!!!!! It happens at other tracks too!!

Lets not forget Sky aren't sponsoring the EL this year. Their new contract is just for TV coverage and offers substantially less money to all EL clubs. Seems to me that Birmingham are in a similar position to Swindon last year - having had a successful season and then undoubtedly paying riders more than can be afforded the following year. Swindon's sponsors bailed them out but that is where its different to Birmingham!! As a side comment, I don't think much of Nigel Pearson commenting on the situation when some would say he has a vested interest in the future at Perry Barr and is also a current member of the BSPA.
