  1. For some weird reason BV wanted Friday nights for the new stadium!!? But Wednesdays were also an option. In fact anything but Mondays!!
  2. I thought the weather plays a part in every fixture!!!
  3. With Crumpie and Leigh Adams as GP Ambassadors, they'll have a good chance of generating a decent crowd.
  4. With fewer EL teams next year and therefore fewer fixtures plus no NZ GP in March - perhaps the BSPA will finally arrange the play-offs in late August/Early September when theres at least a reasonable chance for decent weather.
  5. Whoever Poole use to cover Josh G tonight (Kennett), they can't use them again at home next week if they get through to the final, due to the 8-day rule.
  6. If its true - and I hope it is (although I heard it was the aim for 2016!!) - then presumably the 8 EL clubs have been involved in the decision!!?
  7. Cook might be a possibility?! MF has always liked him and with a Polish place next season, Cookie won't be so keen on a Monday night track!!
  8. Quite well - his legal team were splashing around a bit though!!
  9. Result declared on the first leg score!! He's hardly got any fans either!!
  10. Owning your own stadium, machinery and with space to store your own shale certainly should give the edge over many other tracks!!
  11. Has Darcy failed a swimming test now?? If so, I blame the chlorine!!
  12. The 8-day rule does not apply to riders covering a team's Number 1, so it will only affect whoever is chosen to replace Josh G.
  13. Whispers that Hans may be guesting for someone on Thursday??? Of course as far as Poole is concerned the 8-day rule could well have some influence now if they get past Thursday!!
  14. Magic has stated he may not be back unless there is a much-reduced fixture list! Even before Darcy's suspension there was every likelihood he wouldn't ride in the UK next year anyway!! However, he does have some big local sponsors who are sticking by him so who knows?! Jack Holder and Brady Kurtz being lined up as 2nd strings/double uppers!!
  15. I like what I like and like what is factual!
  16. No, I'm not going to bother!! Feeling guilty SB?? Did I mention you?!
  17. Goodness me there are some uninformed posts on here in the last few pages - mainly from non-Poole fans and those that weren't anywhere near Wimborne Road last night!! Having spent a fair amount of time at the track yesterday, the track staff did an incredible job once it stopped raining from around 1.15pm!! In bright sunshine and a strong wind they got the track into a raceable condition but all the work was wrecked by an unexpected and un-forecasted torrential rain downpour for around 10-15 minutes at approx. 4pm. After that downpour the decision was made to blade off the top surface - a decision made at most tracks in similar circumstances - unfortunately the blade cut into the base on the first turn and 'gouged out' a hole or trough of approx. 5ft in length which was right on the racing line and went down at least 6 inches - maybe more - in depth. It was attempted to fill it by just using the top surface material and packing it down - but it wasn't enough! This was the only issue the riders had on the track walk - as was reported on Sky - as the rest of the track was and looked raceable. Incidentally the senior meeting co-ordinator Ronnie Allan, was very keen to get the meeting on - unlike the meeting referee Christina Turnbull!! OK, blame Poole as it was their track - blame the Poole tractor driver as he was controlling the blading - but don't blame the Poole riders or management, it wasn't solely their decision to call the meeting off!! All riders were very vocal - some more than others from either side - about NOT riding, once again as Rory Schlein and Middlo explained in interview. As for the delay in announcing the rearranged date of Thursday, I do feel for many of the crowd but its not just a case of checking riders availability. Thursday is Poole's official 'rain-off' day, but a number of things need to be checked/confirmed before an announcement can be made - Stadium staffing; trackstaff availability; Sky availability; how long it might take for a proper repair of the 'hole', etc etc Thursday is forecast to be a better weather day - but not without a lot of rain still to come beforehand on Tuesday/Wednesday - not something that will lend itself to the use of track covers. And we know plastic sheeting or tarpaulins don't work either - although imo it might be worth trying it over the start line as we don't want what Swindon had to cope with!!
  18. Exactly - 5 sports channels plus F1 - so why would they want/need to stick to Mondays??
  19. 4. If you never bother to post on any Poole thread in the future, many of us will be truly thankful - and you wouldn't be letting anybody down.
  20. So Monday night clashes with Premier League footie don't matter and tonight the Darts GP starts at 7pm!!
  21. Still raining heavily locally - as per forecast! - due to stop and clear by 2 pm latest depending on the speed of the winds. Even some sunshine forecast for later so fingers crossed. ps. No surprise that Swindon are using the purpose-made BSPA track covers under the 'control' of Ronnie Russell!! They worked when Poole used them previously, BUT ordinary plastic sheeting is a waste of time as it ends to leak!!
  22. ...and unfortunately the big losers this season!!!
  23. Just as well you're not then!! The 7 riders in the skull and crossbones tomorrow are representing Poole so they will get the usual Poole support in a huge turn-out at Wimborne Road - subject to the weather.
