  1. so sorry that your personal relationship with him has deteriorated somewhat!!!! All based on hearsay no doubt!
  2. Whats a 'sheepskin car car'?? Whilst I tend to agree about 'Pro' league speedway, I think speedway will continue - it will just regroup and (hopefully) operate within realistic finances until the economy gets positive again. How that image is promoted will be key to retaining or getting new audiences.
  3. repeat a queensland rag report without checking all the facts first??
  4. ...but then they probably couldn't name a motocross or enduro rider either, despite all the extra promotion the other federation are supposedly well known for!!!
  5. Good Speedway Star article about their intended plans!! Shame they didn't make more of them with an official proposal to begin with!!!
  6. The 'conviction'or punishment was a fine for 'fleeing the police' - a standard minimum $5500. He was also disqualified for 2 years for offence to do with uninsured vehicle and no licence, Whilst he admitted to puffing a spliff and being pissed, that was not what he was 'convicted'/punished for! However stupid he was, he is now in the UK!
  7. Non of which applies to Ward, at this moment in time!!
  8. What? Is that out of sheer bloodymindedness or will they be on non-GP Saturdays???
  9. Taken initially from the Sky Sports site(now updated!) - a bit too quick for my own good, but at least I got all the important meetings!! ha ha.
  10. Wed March 27: Birmingham v Coventry Mon April 8: Swindon v Peterborough Mon April 15: Belle Vue v Peterborough Tues April 23: Lakeside v Kings Lynn Wed April 24: Kings Lynn v Poole Mon April 29: TBC Tues April 30: Scunthorpe v Workington
  11. Have I missed something? I thought he had taken responsibility for his actions, owned up, been warned and fined and now apologised!! OK he still has to prove he can behave himself consistently and that is what we'll all be watching for. For all those that still want to vent their wrath at him, you and all the extra fans can always boo him or shout obscenities at him when he visits your track - you know, just like mature adults are expected to behave!! NB. That'll be anyone over 16? 18? 19? 20????
  12. Better news for Speedway!! You never know there might be some sensible (cost-saving) rules about silencers etc etc ???!!!
  13. C'mon chaps - everyone's heard of 'post twit notes'!!
  14. He admitted to having a puff on a spliff for god's sake. No possession, dealing or anything else drug-related. No explosives in his boots and he won't be hijacking the plane - so I guess he'll get in alright! when not riding a speedway bike on a speedway track!! Ask Woffy what he thinks!!!
  15. Sorry Tsunami, an extra dot crept in there. www.poolepirates.co/
  16. Statement from Matt Ford on Pirates website www.poolepirates.co/
  17. Great career Havvy. Rumours now that he's turned down the Bees management offer in favour of becoming personal manager/mentor to Darcy Ward at Poole, as there's more money in it for him!!
  18. Having been criticised for attempting to clarify the Aussie court ruling as 'defending DW' , may I say that I do not condone his actions one bit. He has to grow up and take heed of all the good advice that he's had and will continue to get. However if we are to chastise and ban every speedway rider that takes a 'puff on a joint' (which is all he's admitted) in his own time, then there would probably not be enough riders around to form a speedway league anywhere!! Drug and alcohol testing before and after meetings have been carried out in recent seasons and I'm sure will continue. I don't recall anyone testing positive.
  19. I wonder how many teams would be missing riders in that case???? A sp(l)iffing idea no less!!
