Elite Riders Wishing To Go Premier
SteveLyric2 replied to barrow boy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Surely the scheme should be about 'doubling -up', ie to give PL riders a couple of seasons to see if they are good enough for the top league - they then have to make a choice!! It really shouldn't be for 'doubling-down', ie for established EL riders to deprive anyone from a PL team place!!! Unless of course the EL riders reckon they can't perform consistently anymore at EL level - in which case they should just drop to the PL and look for lower league team places on the continent.- 22 replies

Just listened to the Neil Vatcher interview again. So the top 6 reserves from 2014 plus those riders that 'missed out' (eg the Autys and Roynons of this world) will be invited to go on the 'A' LIst of reserves. The rest will appear on the 'B' list - which should have the effect of strengthening all EL teams at reserve level - assuming all the riders accept the invitation?! Presumably all riders that accept the invitation will have to agree to the wage scale and to ride for any team they are selected for?!
-
With Nicki, I'm not sure it makes a lot of difference whether he's in the same team or riding for the opposition?!
-
I wish people would actually read the BSPA statement!! Neil Vatcher will invite riders to be in the Fast Track system for 2015. Once they accept he will place them into Grade A and Grade B. Clubs will select one from each grade.(presumably using a similar selection process as this year - although possibly not?!) To improve the overall quality of the reserve races there will be a separate list of riders that can guest for the senior (Grade A) reserve if injured or absent for any acceptable reasons. Question? - as this isn't clear - If Vatcher puts say 10 or 12 riders into Grade A, only 8 can be selected so what will happen with the remaining ones ? Will they be added to the Grade B list or simply put to one side to be called on as guests as and when required?
-
He did!! He told him to make sure he rehydrated earlier for a rearranged afternoon meeting!
-
Jonsson stated a couple of weeks ago in the SS that if he returned to UK, he would only sign for one of his former clubs. As the comments were made in the article about discussions with Jon Cook, then I guess Lakeside would be favourites. Can't see it being Coventry!
-
Please let us all know what he says!!
-
He has quit Britain in 2015 to spend more time with his family and because he couldn't make British Racing pay anymore. Without the financial backing from his (mainly Poole) sponsors, he would have lost money in the past few seasons!!

Speedway Star - Can I Have My Money Back?
SteveLyric2 replied to Rob Lee's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
What like Tesco-Express??!! -
So its the FIM General Assembly this coming weekend (22nd/23rd November)!! I wonder if there will be any official news?
-
PL only I presume?!
-
How many teams are you including Mads in, Steven101??? You've got riding for Swindon, KL and Coventry so far?!! ( I suppose I'll have to wait for school to finish/break to get a reply!!)
-
As long as the Promoters know and agree how it will work - then whats the problem?? Fans will only have to wait another week or so to find out!! (26th November for the Draft, isn't it?)
-
Great to see Kyle Newman proactively seeking a European team place in 2015. A young Brit with some ambition is exactly what the Fast Track system was hoping to produce.
-
2 out of 6 is not bad I guess!!!!
-
Maybe its easier for referees to recognise the riders/jockeys?!!!
-
Lets not forget that some riders eg Charles Wright, were not able to take their place on the list in 2014 due to other job commitments. They only came onto the list later on and allowed to be a guest!!
-
Doubtless Buster will now be insisting on it - in his new management Committee position!!!
-
There is no way any of the 2014 Fast Track reserves will go into a 1-5 on an assessed 3 point average. They will either use their PL average (converted) or come up with a % formula to convert their actual Fast track average!! PS. Still nobody has shown me where the 'only 2 over 7.00' has been confirmed officially!!!!
-
If only every club had its own track!!! Well done to Buster and Kings Lynn!
-
Don't see how it can already be sorted - Neil Vatcher only knew he'd got the job on Friday!!!
-
Surely there's a chance that some of those may be offered a full team place??!!
-
How dare you?! Poole wouldn't do that to give Lakeside any advantage - Jon Cook's not on the MC anymore!!!!
-
Bech's meeting in Swindon over the weekend may give a clue!! Re the fast track revisions, some people seem to be missing the point that Neil Vatcher will be INVITING riders to be reserves and then dividing them into a Grade A and Grade B lists. If some riders have already ridden in the 1-5 or been 'offered' a full team place, I assume they wouldn't be considered as a reserve. so to start naming names at this stage is far too premature imo. Finally, has anyone official actually confirmed or denied the 'only 2 riders over 7 points ' in the EL, other than the unofficial 'I used to be a serious journalist' SwindonLinkSport website?? 'Cos I've not seen mention of it anywhere else!!
-
Why would the BSPA statement seem to be trying to encourage more GP riders to return to the EL - and then introduce a 2 x 7+ pointers maximum per team?? It just can't be true, can it??!
