  1. Any one of the many GP riders that BSPA are making it easy to attract - especially on a regular Monday night!!!!!!!???
  2. He was in real danger of being replaced, but he was also carrying an early season leg injury - from which he came back to soon, hence his iffy form which threatened his place at the time..
  3. If Poole pick Newman as their 'protected asset' in Group 1, then Poole will have last pick of Group 2 as they finished as League winners. Similarly, if Coventry pick a 'protected asset' from Group 1, then they will have the penultimate (or 4th from last?) pick of Group 2. If they choose to protect a Group 2 asset, then they will have the penultimate choice of Group 1 riders - assuming the playoff positions rather than the final league positions dictate the order - otherwise it will be fourth from last pick..
  4. To be fair Tsunami, it was a very boring and long winded - and incomplete - document any way!!
  5. It makes no difference where the riders are in the Grade A list - its where the club finished in the EL that determines the order of the pick after (presumably) those clubs have picked their protected rider. If Poole pick Newman (assuming he agrees to go on the list?), then they will have the last pick from the Grade B riders
  6. I see Mick is saying he hopes to retain 4 of last year's (2014) 7!!!
  7. So all the talk in the BSPA statement about 'helping as many GP riders consider the EL in 2015' was utter bull rubbish, if only a couple of clubs can actually afford them!!!
  8. At the moment everyone is assuming that all those riders named so far as fast trackers have actually accepted the invitation!!!! I have it on very good authority that at least one of the proposed Grade A fast trackers has not yet given his ok.
  9. Couldn't agree more Steve0. I just hope all the riders have the changes in the process explained to them as the likes of Kerr and Rose (as examples) could accept the invitation thinking they are both going to be KL riders again!!!
  10. As its been explained to me today - If, as expected, Poole select Newman as their protected Grade A rider, they will get last pick in group B. If Coventry select Garrity as their protected Grade A rider, they will get the penultimate pick in Group B. This presupposes that Newman accepts his place in the draft; and that Coventry don't choose to protect a Grade B rider first.
  11. So the Speedy Star seems to confirm the maximum 2 x 7 pointers per EL team?! I just do not understand the logic of that - as well as not understanding why it wasn't made clear in the AGM statement!!
  12. He would be reassessed at 8 points as a GP rider!!!
  13. I think Lakeside will take whoever in Round 1 and are likely to 'protect' Ellis in the 2nd round draft!!
  14. I thought the wink at the end of my post was sufficient??!!
  15. This was reported last week when his lawyers were quoted as saying they only expected Darcy to 6-8 months, backdated to the start of his suspension!! Maybe they know something we don't?!
  16. Just to be fair there were at least 2 EL promoters - Matt Ford and David Helmsley (possibly others?) - that wanted a higher points limit. Not massively higher, just 1 or 2 points more ie 35-36. This other thing about Poole not needing to promote - where do you think Poole's money comes from? Certainly not out of Matt's back pocket. It comes from a lot of hard work with sponsors and advertisers, large and small, individuals and corporates. Now I know that Poole is the commercial centre of the world and there are massive sponsorship opportunities for the very few leisure activities available which are just waiting for someone to pick up the phone!!!! But the difference is Matt gets out there and does it because its his main business.
  17. A lot of it is just his opinion and not based on anything factual!!
  18. If he had a spray tan and admitted to being Matt's love child - he could be Darky Ford!!
  19. Quite right Ole, 2013 was the final year of Sky Sports sponsorship of the league(s). 2014 was the first year of a 5-year agreement to televise a certain number of meetings. I'm sure its Terry Russell that has the responsibility of seeking new sponsors for the league(s).
  20. Kyle's already done quite a number of individual meetings of varying standards across the continent, so I'm sure a number of European club promoters will be aware of his progress. I gather he's already turned down one offer from a Polish lower league club, who were trying to get him on the cheap - and I mean less than the Fast Track is allegedly paying!!!!!
