  1. With the confidence in having a new TV deal imminent, I guess that the BSPA announcement so far is equivalent to a Plan A?! As soon as the TV deal is confirmed, then expect Plan B to appear!
  2. Except for Lakeside who seem to already 'expect' to have Ellis!!!
  3. Hampel, Sayfudtinov and Janowski - amongst others - may say differently!!
  4. Was tried at other tracks too, but I seem to recall riders were against it because of the extra cost of too many burnt out clutches!!
  5. Why on earth is this thread still going??? Its perfectly clear that 'centre green parking' is only when the stadium is NOT in use for motorsport!!
  6. How can there be any 'news' about the AGM on any website?? It hasn't taken place yet!! Starts at 1030 this morning!!
  7. If only we could get Nike interested??!! And I'm certain there are enough kinks in the sport already!!
  8. 'Bridget'?? Luv it. Brightened my day! ps. Middlo didn't ride/race the bikes against USA - mind you, neither did the 'strength in depth' Team GB riders!!!!! pps. Middlo recommending Rosco; Havvy and/or Screen to throw their hats into the ring - with Morris sticking to U21s for the time being.
  9. Isn't there an argument for having a 3xdivision league (ie EL and PL teams split into 3 divisions) North/Midlands/South - NL to remain separate.? Each division has home/away twice, with the 3 respective division winners in a 3-way play-off. I haven't done the calculations - just reacting to all the 'anti-North/South structure'!
  10. Just a thought - even though expected, anyone seen anything official announced anywhere?? Or has someone leaked an advance copy of the BSPA AGM agenda?
  11. Bech confirms he is in talks with a Wednesday EL track, that is 'difficult to ride'!! Birmingham, Kings Lynn or Poole?
  12. £70k is the least of the losses!!!!!!
  13. Middlo made no secret of the fact that he was packing it in! Personally I'd like to see Neil Vatcher give it a go, with Morris sticking to the U21s!!!
  14. For those fans that want 'all the top riders', who are we actually talking about and how are we going to get them all and spread them among 9, 10, 11 or 12 'top level' teams?? Its just not on!! If we're '(un-) lucky', we may get a rule change that introduces ' a max of one GP rider per team' - but as others have said - what use is that in providing decent racing over 15 heats?? The sport has to re-group - with or without a major sponsor, TV or not! - lets get back to weekly team racing at a reasonable cost to the supporters! Maybe a typical ss response, but not typical of all Poole fans!!!!
  15. Can't imagine there being a huge fight between BT and Sky for Speedway rights!! You seem to be assuming that the EL will increase in size?! What about Birmingham, Swindon and Eastbourne (and others???) who have reportedly had major financial losses eg Eastbourne not less than £70k!!
  16. In case you didn't notice TWK - there's a question mark after 'name only'? That usually questions the statement or opinion, when its not a fact!!
  17. I think you might well find Holder taking part - if his recuperation continues to go to plan as it has done over recent weeks - if only for the chance to have a skid!!
  18. Name only? Trophy only! medals only! Records only! Sky only! Media only! Fans only!
  19. I wonder if Sky would further 'drag out' any negotiations until the current contract actually ends at end December, in order to have even more of an upper hand in how Speedway on TV is to operate?! The BSPA would presumably have to make an AGM decision to go with a league structure that assumes 'no Sky', ie no expensive top riders; and other cost-cutting measures etc etc. Then Sky come along in January with a new deal that 'insists' on the top stars being involved in some way?! What would that mean at that relatively late stage? ...A new competition? A Super Cup or whatever, in addition to whatever League structure has already been agreed?! I'm just a bit bored really, with no news............................................................................!!
  20. So Sky have lost out to BT Sport for the 2015/16 Champions League TV rights, thereby saving £millions. Maybe Speedway on TV might be 'saved' after all!!? (ps. If 'saved' is the correct word to use, rather than deferring the inevitable?!)
  21. Got mine on time in the post as usual yesterday!
  22. Also posted elsewhere that Tai is scheduled to appear on BT SPORT Live this evening - BT Sport1 from 7pm to 8pm!
  23. Tai is also scheduled to appear on BT Sport Live on Wednesday evening!! Maybe there is hope after Sky from BT Sport after all??!!
  24. Yes a great interview. Well done Tai and Colin Murray (and Nigel Pearson for presumably setting it up?!)
