  1. Many people on here and elsewhere don't seem to have a clue about the costs of hiring a stadium like Cardiff for 10 days or so - and thats before the cost of laying a track and then dismantling it afterwards. The stadium would take into account any lost revenue (bars, hospitality, franchises etc) on the 'dead' days, aside from the days that speedway actually takes place in front of a (mostly) paying audience!
  2. At the end of the day, whatever options are decided, they have to be affordable for all clubs - and fans! Unfortunately not all Clubs have the same cost base - some own their own Stadia, some rent from supportive landlords, some rent from reluctant stadium owners. Some (a few) have supportive corporate main sponsors, many do not! Clubs must be allowed to operate at their preferred level (financially) otherwise more Clubs will be lost. To be 'forced' into one league or another just to suit the few would be wrong imo. If every club operated from the same costbase it might be different, but they don't and it isn't!
  3. Surely a promoter only ceases to be a promoter officially at the AGM? This is when a new Board Director will be elected.
  4. He's still listed as a director at Companies House but I know he wanted to step down! Maybe its something that can only formally be done at an AGM?!😇
  5. They set the 3-year points limit (40 points) at last year's AGM - subject to the same number of Championship clubs! Lets not forget that Scunny (Rob Godfrey) and Poole (Danny Ford) are 50% of the BSPL Board of Directors. They other 2 are Chris Louis and Damien Bates.
  6. Rob is the BSPL Chairman of the Board of Directors. The other Board (not bored!?) Directors are Louis, Bates and Ford.
  7. OMG. Where have you been for the past 5 years??
  8. No I didn't mean Championship clubs running a Prem league club as well!! I meant any of the current Prem clubs running a second Prem team eg. Belle Vue Aces and BV 'Kings'? Kings Lynn Stars and KL 'Planets'? Etc etc.
  9. Just a thought.... Could/Would any of the current Prem clubs run a 2nd team in the Prem?
  10. Minor point but its an AGM of a Limited Company, not a Conference of an Association anymore.
  11. There was supposed to be news about Sheffield THIS week, but hey its only Wednesday.
  12. Oh gawd don't get Lewy going off again!!🤪
  13. Just as a matter of passing interest, Sam Hagon was at Poole's end of season party on Friday!!
  14. No idea!! The AGM is usually in the 2nd week of November (Not sure if thats written into the BSP Limited's Company Rules & Regs). It was originally scheduled as one day - for 12th (today) - and the only alternative suggested dates have appeared on this forum, so your guess is as good as anyone's. PS. I wasn't at the end of season party on Friday and despite a lot of feedback from that event by my family members, there was no mention of the AGM - possibly because many fans simply aren't that interested in the date, only the decisions!!?
  15. Why 'incredible'? It's not as if anyone other than the BSPL members are attending! If it is taking place today then I'm sure an official statement will be made this evening or tomorrow!
  16. It has been rumoured that his Danish club (Brovst I think) are going into the top league which would mean Wednesday league fixtures, rather than the ad hoc weekend fixtures in their lower leagues. As for UK, Plymouth was rumoured but there maybe a hiccup with a sponsor who supports both Plymouth and Poole!?
  17. Tobias Thomsen has signed contracts in Denmark and Sweden and has one 'pending' in UK.
  18. I wonder who the 'returning Aussie' might be, staying with Middlo and the Cooks??
  19. Anders was away on holiday when the end-of-season do was held last Friday. He did send a video - as did Richard Lawson! Danny Ford was a little peeved that Anders hadn't told him til the last minute. As for how Anders is in the pits - thats for Middlo to handle. Danny did intimate that 6 rider contracts were done with one almost finalised - but no more announcements until the AGM has rubber-stamped what promoters have previously agreed, just in case there is a last minute change!!! (as has happened before.) Also I guess he and Matt also want to keep a check on how the Aussie season progresses..............!
  20. The new proposed site is outside the Swindon Council boundary lines I believe.? Presumably Wiltshire Council?.......
  21. I thought 6.82, not that it's going to happen
  22. Yes but none of that is directly relevant to when the AGM is held! The outcomes are, but not the date of the agm.
