Not one of Zach Cook's favourite tracks after his first race fall and withdrawal last season, but fingers crossed for today. Pirates still managed a 2 point win last year so hope springs eternal...😃 -

Riding order will often change for away meetings depending on past rider performance at those tracks! -

How is Anders 'wasted' at 3, after getting 15 riding in that position? -

Poole vs Oxford BSN 07/05/25

Poole have launched a new weekly draw to help fund a new air fence for 2026. Meanwhile the NSS has taken out extra insurance as Vinnie is now in the British Final on Monday. Maybe Lawson and Kerr were merely being cautious...? -

It would seem he was withdrawn on medical grounds on Wednesday after his 4th ride in heat 13. There are photos of him 'having words' with Jenkins at the end so whether that was something to do with it......? Catalan should know..! -

Middlo's interview on this week's Piratecast podcast today tried to explain how the Poole riders arrived with the same set-ups as their other home meeting v Plymouth. Unfortun ately the track prep and weather were totally different and it wasn't til the second half of the meeting that Poole began to claw back the deficit. -

Apparently dislocated his knee and dislodged the kneecap. Don't know what ligament/muscle/nerve damage there may be? -

I believe there may be stadium cost implications if the meeting goes past a certain time!? Anyway reflecting on last night now I've thawed out, well done to Oxford and especially Masters and McDiarmid, the latter never having seen the track before. Race times especially in the first half of the meeting were very fast, under 60 secs. Poole highlights (only a few!) were Anders in heat 3 and Rocketman in heat 15. Otherwise disappointing from the home side but hey we move on, it's still early days. Hope Gilkes recovers quickly from his kneecap injury. Perfectly understand why the track doctor/paramedic went with him to hospital, hence the delay.
