Pre-season International Speedway Cup

Poole P&P day on 19th so Havvy bound to be there!! -
Very good comeback - but has he got his visa???
-
Agree - I actually do believe this was nothing to do with Sky!! Why would their negotiators be the slightest bit interested in what fixture clashes there may or may not be?! This was down to Go-Speed, who were contracted to negotiate on behalf of..................the BSPA?!!!

I'm sure I posted this somewhere, but in case I'm dreaming or going a bit ga-ga (which is entirely possible!?) Sky's new deal with Super League Rugby - one of those announced alongside Speedway - is reported to be in excess of £127million (that's the figure that the previous deal was worth!), as reported in some of the national sports and financial pages in the past few days!! The top man at Super League was quoted as saying 'the money would be the saviour of all the clubs'!! So presumably the figures for Speedway are available if the necessary research was carried out?! OR perhaps its such an insignificant sum compared to Rugby League that its not worth reporting?! Still be worth knowing at some point though.....? -
Aah was it? It wasn't clear from the early posts!! I'm never awake for the first showing of Q of S, whenever that is. Reading most of the rubbish on here really tires me out most nights!!

Tonights Question of Sport (BBC1 -1930) had 'what sport is Tai Woffinden the Current World Champion?' and nobody on Matt Dawson's team got it!!

If it does go ahead I hope it doesn't clash with a Sky meeting otherwise we'll really be up s***creek!! -
Speedway Champions League ?

Well, a few hundred/thousand miles anyway!!! -
In the rest of the Harkness article in the SS, he states that one of the issues with a tier 5 visa request is that they will not be considered if a tier 2 visa has been previously refused as part of the process. Meetings with the UKBA are being attempted to see if any of this can be overturned - specifically for speedway riders.
-
These aren't new - some clubs have been using these for ages - 5-1 with 4-2 on the reverse and often a sponsor's logo as well!! Of course you do have to have enough of a crowd to make it worthwhile! NB. I note you don't mention anything about the new streaming deal by the company part-owned by BSkyB? Any comments....?
-
Lets be clear, Sky are not sponsoring Speedway any more - they have struck a deal to provide TV coverage, for which they will provide the BSPA/Go-Speed with a much-reduced 'rights fee', which will also include a payment to each home club for a televised meeting! Any additional League Sponsorship deal will need to be confirmed and announced soonest, in order to get the Sponsor Logo on the various sets of kevlars currently on order at the respective manufacturers!!!
-
...to go with the pre-season changes!!?
-
...but has he got his visa yet??? So its Koppe-off and Facu-off!!?
-
Great news - except for Havvy - that the Sky coverage starts with the ERC meeting switched to Friday 21st March!!!
-
Or what about Jason's cricketing cousin Lindsey Doyle?

'Barking' up the wrong tree there I think!!!!! -
Aussie Team Manager Mark Lemon has said on facebook today that theres more bad news to come!!
-
As I've said before, I perfectly understand Sky's position. Whats to announce???? We know they are no longer sponsoring the League. If they are just going to televise some meetings, why not (from their perspective) wait until closer to the date of the first TV meeting?! As far as any potential League Sponsorship is concerned then I guess GoSpeed/BSPA will have negotiated such a deal knowing whether a TV arrangement is in place, so need the timing of that announcement to coincide with Sky deciding to announce their coverage - assuming it is Sky of course?!
