Fair enough. Silly or not silly (it was said with a wink!!), I question the relevance of some people's opinions on the future Elite League (which is what this thread is about) when they don't attend. Its all very well to say someone 'knows their speedway' - maybe so but if that knowledge is only based on the so-called 'good old days', then I'm not sure what it has to do with the future of the EL , as bad as it is now in many people's eyes. I rarely post on any of the PL or NL threads because I rarely attend a PL or NL track (except very occasionally Somerset), so I don't see that my opinion has any constructive relevance on any PL/NL topics. That's my choice I know, despite having attended Poole meetings when they were in the old National League, when crowds were much much greater than the EL is now. Anyway each to their own - but better still if its constructive comment rather than the same old same old!!

I wouldn't put money on it!!! Maybe 'random' testing should become compulsory testing before ever GP - it might explain some riders' unexpected performances!! Incidentally, Ward didn't look or sound at all 'hungover' in his TV interview, so was probably not 'pissed' as you put it! (and I'm not excusing it!!)

Not strictly true! Many people in everyday life DO take to alcohol and many go on to ride/drive motor vehicles, putting themselves and other road users at risk!! And when they are caught, they are punished as Darcy should be!!

He actually said he was in a restaurant and had 'a couple of drinks'!! Still too many and no excuses. I think I should start a book on how many Darcy Ward/poole threads there will be by the end of the day!!

Racing on the occasional Mondays to suit Sky is one thing, but despite what Woffy has said, several of the top riders DO NOT like Monday meetings in the UK on a regular basis. Many prefer the day off after GP and Poland at the weekend and then Sweden on a Tuesday. Wednesdays and Thursdays seem a better option, even with the Danish League alternatives. As for the EL/PL admission price differential, the EL proposal to reduce admission by £2, was opposed by the PL as it would mean the PL reducing their prices by a similar amount - not competing at the same price!!! Many PL promoters stated it would 'ruin them'!! So clearly the PL clubs are also running very close to the financial wind!!

What have Ford or Middlo got to answer? That the August list was issued and they signed a rider that they were entitled to!!! Any questions need to be asked of the BSPA or the Fast Track Co-ordinator!!

Pardon?! Why would any media -national, local or otherwise - be interested in some sort of supposed conspiracy theory, voiced on a minor sport's fan forum? There is no 'controversy' amongst the clubs or riders. There has been no disagreement in the speedway press, other than probably a couple of reader letters. In fact, the vast majority of speedway fans, especially those that still actually attend meetings on a regular basis, have no interest, knowledge nor opinion on the matter as long as there are still usually 7 riders against 7 riders at every meeting. By all means write to the BSPA/SCB/ACU offices and/or every individual club and ask for an explanation or clarification and see what replies you get............

Has the change of ownership at Torun already taken place or is it an 'end of season' thing? If I understood the translation of the story correctly, it would seem the new owners want to introduce a new lower pay scale for its riders - which may not go down too well with the likes of Emil!!?
