  1. And as some would argue, he has not put any riders at risk and he has already been punished, with a fine and suspension!!
  2. So totally different to Dudek for example, who rode 'while under the influence' ??!!
  3. Its stated that he needs to build up his bank balance and sponsorship in order to be competitive in the SGPs . He intends doing another year of league racing and SEC to achieve that.
  4. Just read in this week's SS that Darcy has had his initial 'appeal' against the suspension turned down!! Not sure if that was already in the public domain - I hadn't seen it anywhere?! Presumably that gets rid of any accusations of the wrong procedures in Latvia?! So he only has the actual FIM Disciplinary Commission Hearing to come - possibly end October if not in November - with the added possibility of WADA involvement if they think the eventual punishment is not sufficient?!
  5. Not sure why KK was giving his brother so much grief walking back to the pits?? Also had a go at Sundstrom apparently?! Glad Shamek kept out of the way!!
  6. Darcy Ward's FIM hearing confirmed for November. He's had FIM correspondence advising this. He will have the knee operation sooner rather than later now!!
  7. 2 weeks ago that comment - and he was right , Pedersen did wipe someone out!! Darcy is away on sunny hols with his good lady at the moment!! MF not expecting to hear anything from FIM til October/November!!!
  8. So if this competition is to be held in 2015 and if Poole are the UK champions - at least they won't have the same rider difficulties as this year with neither Torun nor Piraterna winning their respective championships!!
  9. The majority of Poole fans support Ward AND agree that he should be punished appropriately, as long as every testing process was carried out properly, despite Darcy admitting to being 'slightly' over!! If he was only slightly over on a test that was not performed correctly then there is every chance the reading could have been wrong! We don't know yet! Right or wrong, young riders need all the support they can get!!
  10. Phil Rising posted about this a few days ago now. There was possibly a question about the testing procedure bearing in mind the last minute switch of venues and some of the chaotic arrangements that were having to be made to switch the meeting eg, was the test done in an area where there was methanol which could have affected the reading? Was the machinery used properly calibrated? Were other tests ie urine, blood also carried out? etc etc. Not saying any of it was right or wrong - just being questioned, as it has to be fair, whatever people think of Ward!!
  11. At least he's a PL promoter at the helm - its the nearest you'll get to 'impartial' as far as the EL is concerned!! I like him - but agree he doesn't seem to get the support he deserves. Its too much for just one person to sort out!!
  12. Unlikely - if the testing processes were found to be 'iffy'!!!
  13. Just seems a bit pointless rehashing whats been on here several times over since the suspension. Its not saying anything new is it??
  14. with his dad I would imagine, possibly amongst others!! That was in 2012 at the back of his house in Oz - out of season - and it didn't amount to a 'conviction' in Aussie law!!
  15. ...and we all know that riders always follow doctors' advice!!
  16. Legal !!!! Theres a piece from one of the Polish media sites, which I can't now find the link to, which is questioning the accuracy of the reading and the circumstances of the actual test. Also if the translation was accurate, The FIM's Armando Castagna seemed to be 'recommending' a lenient punishment, possibly a suspended sentence??!
  17. Well so the info was correct - it is being staged after the Torun GP - 8 days after!!!I wonder which country it will be restaged in???
  18. Agreed but sounds very similar to Tai's injury to his clutch hand which kept him ou of the GP.
  19. Not sure how a presenter can slow down a meeting?? Its not as if they have control of the "2-minute button"!! Poole's Centre Green presenter Nigel Leahy also comes from a Cycle Speedway background and is highly professional (imo), working well with the DJ up in the control box which is not the ref's box!! Yes he occasionally makes the odd mistake - doesn't everyone - but is usually well researched and up to date with all recent results and rider performances!! Also He doesn't feel that he has to shout into the mic!! We notice the considerable difference when Nigel is away and we get Swindon's Clive Fisher as a stand-in!!!
  20. The picture from the hospital this morning didn't look very 'minor'!! Left hand in a splint with dislocated knuckles the main injury. I know his clutch control is red hot usually but....................???!!
