  1. 'Clearly the 70% is a guesstimate but I imagine Sidney isn't a million miles out. The Poole faithful do seem in the main rather supportive of Darcy and everything he does' - on the track.
  2. All teams are 'illegal' at the moment!! For those riders that rode in 2014, the final 2014 averages are on the BSPA site.
  3. Did they not put a load of extra shale on at around 6pm which left parts of the track (Bend 3 in particular - but not exclusively) far too heavy, which resulted in much attempt at regrading during the first 4 heats? Much better to have left it slick after scraping all the top slop off!! But Buster has all the right equipment and loads of shale so everything must have been ok?!
  4. Should suit Poole to a tee then, I'd have thought!! Although it sounds as though having so much spare shale sitting around at the arena and putting it on too late has led to a poorly prepared and dangerous track for both sets of riders!!
  5. Great round of applause for Poole's non-riding club captain showing concern for one of his injured clubmates. Some people on here need to get a life and move on.
  6. Hopefully the 14 point lead can be defended, especially with the possible use of the T/R yielding more than Rory managed last night?! Hopefully a safe night for all riders too!!
  7. I didn't realise speedway had any fans in Blackpool??! NB. Great to see Darcy amongst the first to rush across to check on Kyle Newman after his big crash in Heat 2 at Poole last night
  8. Not forgetting Eurosport2 at 1800 hours LIVE, with numerous repeat showings over the next week. I actually enjoyed the Pairs last year much much more than the Euro Championships.
  9. Kyle Newman took a big off (broken chain) in his first race at Poole this evening - withdrawn from meeting with mild concussion.
  10. Mild concussion for Kyle but looked ok after the meeting tonight. Holder missing due to the Pairs and not being able to get a flight in time for the practice. Janowski is not in the Pairs, but the fixture was not on the original draft list given to Magic some weeks/months ago, so he has other commitments.
  11. Well I confess to being a little surprised but nevertheless delighted with tonight's result, especially after losing Kyle Newman (mild concussion - but looked fine afterwards) in heat 2 when his chain broke whilst attempting a 'big one around the outside of turn 4'!! All the Pirates contributed well - each with at least one heat win - but exceptional performances by North and Starke and of course the skipper. Disappointed with the Stars to be honest - not one rider in double figures including a T/R - but they are just as likely to reverse all that with Poole on Thursday night. PS. For all the afficianados, Nothing wrong with the track, that a bit more shale wouldn't have improved - but no holes, no ruts to speak of, and not even Poole's infamous 'blue groove' appearing. It was bl***y cold though!
  12. But that is what he did say!! I was there on P&P day and have my own opinion. As I said its all a ruse to get Buster to bring some shale with him!
  13. Kings Lynn originally said he'd be missing both legs but they've updated their website now! r/r on Thursday. Extra ride for North and rides for Newman
  14. Don't expect too much from Davey Watt - he's sick but is en-route and still intending to compete!! Good man.
  15. Agree with that summary PQ7. 2 very close meetings ahead which could both be away wins?!! Especially as all the KL riders should know where the holes are likely to be!! It'll be interesting to see Poole's riding order for these first couple of meetings?!
  16. Hope that's not the sign of things to come from Poland this season!!!!? Strung out processional races won by turn 2 on the first lap in virtually every race. Hope the fans that were watching were not charged to go in??!
  17. The 'money' thing was really about the cost of Poole hosting the event, with a limited stadium capacity and huge extra costs. The decision to withdraw - as it says in the article - was the decision not to be allowed to strengthen the team ie as a squad, in the same way as the Poles, Swedes and Danes. Lets hope KL do themselves proud with Protasiewiecz and don't end up just competing for 3rd/4th place and catching a financial cold!
  18. With some riders having 'arrangements' with certain suppliers, its often left to individuals to do the ordering to a specific design and to their own individual sizes. Often the rider will pay for the kevlars and depending on the terms of their club contract, will be refunded the cost (or not) in their pay packets once they start racing!!
  19. Just to emphasise the point, at todays P&P, Poole's team kevlars clearly came from 2 different suppliers with variations in the darker and lighter blue/white. A clear case of there not being a 'blueprint'!!
  20. Originally the BSPA decision not to support was to 'protect' the EL Saturday tracks - especially as the Pairs dates were never announced until after the respective League fixtures. As it now primarily only affects Leicester - who will have Doyle representing the Aussies anyway - I can't now see what their issue is other than we haven't got a decent pair to compete with the other countries.
