  1. I think we'll find out fairly soon re your last sentence Philip as he'll be signing for another EL side come 28th June - assuming he hasn't already signed in order to get his UK visa??!
  2. Apparantly there is also a totally impartial view from Sepp Blatter, who refused any payment for the interview - insisting instead that a sizeable donation be made to his charity for ailing sports administrators - Blatter, Blatter, Blatter & Sons, The Cayman Isles!!
  3. Whats Colin Horton got to do with it?? Its nonsense!!
  4. Thanks Star Lady, I'll pass on your comments re the programme and presenter. I'm glad you were given a good reception - it does happen in the vast majority of meetings at Poole. We're not all bad, despite what some on here might try to have you believe!!
  5. Good performance from the Pirates - very solid throughout!! Great to see Davey Watt banging in some points. The track was pretty good as it has been for the past month or so - and a good healthy-sized crowd.. Hope young Lambert is ok - apart from Kerr he was the only Stars rider that seemed interested. Interesting attempt by the PirateCast lads (Meeting Sponsors) to get the Rider of the Night voted for by fans tweeting in. Deservedly awarded to Magic, just beating Davey, although Bjerre got quite a few votes too!!! ps, Don't like watching from the glass restaurant/stand - I will be back in my usual main grandstand seat for the next 'grudge' match on 17th.
  6. bike? horse? donkey? greyhound? what are you trying to say? BTW Bomber was more than happy with the Poole track when he guested a couple of weeks ago. He actually said in interview the track was the best he'd ridden this season!! I hope Sky don't destroy it for tonight! ps. there's a whisper that there's a hit squad waiting for Big Ron somewhere on the stadium approach roads!!
  7. I would think that Darcy will want as many meetings as possible before the final GP in Melbourne!! Being in one of the EL play-off teams would achieve that in UK. With the EL redeclaration rules insisting on only 2x7point riders, then I can't see how Swindon will be able to fit him in?! Lakeside on a Friday would also be doubtful. That leaves KL, Leicester and Wolves on current averages. The number of meetings he might get in Poland and/or Sweden is unlikely to be that many!!!
  8. Keep banging that drum mate. I'm sure Shamek will have been told more than enough by his brother!!!
  9. I wonder if the discussions will get serious between Buster and Matt tonight about the possibility of Darcy going to Kings Lynn with a 3 pointer to replace Rory and Porsing??!
  10. ....but I bet you'll be watching on Sky tomorrow!! I'll be there with the meeting sponsors - even they have guests!
  11. So why did Havvy say on Sky that Terry had worked wonders all day to get the track ready for racing??!
  12. I've run out of 'likes' for today!!
  13. Doolan did well in his last appearance at Wimborne Road!! 8+2.
  14. When Sky sponsored the EL (they don't now), monies were paid to the BSPA who released it to the clubs periodically through the season. Not sure if it works the same way with money only for TV meetings?
  15. Except that had it been Bees v Lions, the Bees would probably have been in the lead and the meeting would have run smoothly until heat 10 or beyond!!! Norrie Allan would have been jumping up and down in the pits, yelling at riders and officials and trying to get the meeting called off by heat 6, whilst the calm, serene and smirking Havvy would be in the background ensuring that his riders remained focussed and went out to tapes well within the 2 minutes!!
  16. So he'll probably sign for Leicester, Lakeside or Wolves as they have no chance of the play-offs - and if they did DW wouldn't be able to guest!!
  17. PQ7 - That's the pic with the report in the Echo that makes reference to 'the Coventry team falling apart'!! I cannot/ will not comment further other than to say that Poole and Kings Lynn have a great opportunity to bring some respectability back to our sport with the televised meeting tomorrow, in front of a packed house of £10 paying punters!!
  18. So who was right in their respective interviews? Horton said in the podcast that 'Coventry had been instructed not to prepare the track they way they wanted to'! Havvy said in the TV interview that Terry (the regular trackman) had worked wonders to get the track fit to race!!
  19. This is one of the most sensible posts I've seen on this thread - Agree 100%.
  20. Of course Middlo was 'smirking' as would every other team manager if he'd just been gifted a win by a combination of track conditions, officials and another team manager who refused to allow his riders (who wanted to ride) to go onto the track!
  21. Its difficult to show class in a dubious victory - its even more difficult when Poole are getting the blame for doing absolutely nothing wrong.
  22. Nobody said that Poole weren't prepared to go out for the remaining heats. It was Coventry (or Havvy in particular) that refused to send their riders out!!
  23. Thanks Nigel - 'Poole did nothing wrong'!! Poole simply scored more points on a track that Coventry weren't able to prepare to their own liking. That vendetta's a real ba$£@rd ain't it Havvy?! Some of the regular haters really need to get a life if there was any fault on Poole's part tonight.
